Today was a cleaning day. Not me cleaning the house but getting my teeth cleaned at the dentist. I had to drop hubby off at work at 815 this morning so I could be down south to my dentist at 9am. I got there 25 minutes early, traffic was good and I caught all green lights. So I kicked back the car seat, set my alarm and relaxed with my eyes closed.
When it was time, I went into the office. I saw Sandy and made a $75 payment. She added it to my debt and told me we only have $320 left to pay! Yeah! We are making some headway! I got called back and got my teeth cleaned, no cavities but I lost a filling in a back tooth so I will have to have it filled. I asked them to get it pre-approved by the dental insurance to make sure they will pay for it. In the meantime I will keep the food out of the hole. Luck for me it isn't sensitive.
After I was done, I drove back to hubby's school and went inside to wait for him. He had a very important meeting with the VA to do a presentation on computers that he is recommending for the veteran students and they are a little bit more expensive than the ones they are currently getting. He had graphs and charts and full knowledge of all things. They were impressed and went with his suggestions. I am so proud of all the work he put into it and how he did. I didn't get to see it, mind you, but he did tell me all about it.
After he was done telling me about it, he drove me home and dropped me off. It was the last day of the month and so it was Inventory day. He had to finish up down here in the Springs so he could head up to Denver to do Inventory there too. It's 10pm when he called me and told me he had just gotten done working in Denver and was now headed back to the school to punch out, and then he would be home. So I expect him to finally get home about 1130 or midnight. One long day for him!
My sister, Collette, the one visiting from Nevada, called me and then she, my mom and my niece, all came over to visit. It was nice, I gave them a tour of the house, showing off the pinball machine and the playhouse out in the backyard. She told me about the nursing school and how she got free e-books from a friend of her's that is a year ahead of her and how she got free scrubs for school. Things are going her way and I'm glad. She will be an excellent nurse.
I sat outside reading for an hour, enjoying the slight breeze and swinging. Then I went into the house and ate some leftover Beef Stroganoff for dinner. Fed the beasties and pet the dogs. Tomorrow hubby is going to drop me off at the Zoo before he goes to work, about 10am, so I can be there for my 1-4pm shift. He will pick me up at 410pm and bring me home. I will hang out at the zoo in the Docent Resource Center until it is time for my shift. As much as I enjoy holding the joey and playing Docent, I hate the traffic and parking of the Zoo that happens over the summer so I am ready for it to be done. I have tomorrow and Saturday left to do then I am done for the summer. I won't work again until the fall, when all the kids have gone back to school.
