Today was a proud day.  I had to get up at 730am in order to take hubby into Ryder Truck Rental so he could pick up his truck for work but I woke up just before 7 to pee and couldn't get back to sleep.  Hubby also woke up when I sat up and got out of bed, asking me if I was alright.  I told him I just had to pee and go back to sleep.  But when I was done and back in bed, he tried and also failed to go back to sleep.  He got up and went down to his office and I continued to lay here, just resting.  Since I couldn't turn my mind off worrying about the rats, I had noticed some runny stool in their cage last night, I decided to read then go down and feed everybody.  But first I decided to read a little of my book, determined to rest awhile longer.
When I finally go up, dressed with teeth brushed, I went downstairs and checked out the rats.  Zeke and Dylan greeted me happily.  They had eaten all of their new food overnight and I'm happy to say that I didn't see anymore runny stool.  I pet them and fed them Cheerios and apple with nectarine.
I took hubby to Ryder so he could get his truck and dropped him off.  Normally I tell him I would wait to make sure he gets his truck but this time I had my Prayer Shawl Meeting at Holy Apostle Catholic Church at 9am and I was in a hurry.  So I kissed him goodbye and took off.  Now here is when I mention to him that I forgot my phone at home so I told him I would just meet him at his office when I got done with my meeting at 1130am.
So I headed over to the church and discovered I was the first one there.  I took out my shawl and started picking off the few animal hairs that made it through the wash and got it ready to turn over to Merium.  My shawl was the 1655th shawl turned in since the church started their prayer shawl ministry.  2 other shawls were turned in at the same time.  I got a lot of compliments on it.  Then I started a new shawl in orange, a good fall color.  Ruth and Emily sat next to me and we did carry on a good conversation.  Ruth crochets also, showing me the way she did a double crochet to get a ridge.  It was very pretty.
I was able to start several conversations and did well.  I am getting to know people there.  It's nice and now that we are meeting twice a month, I can remember more.  And I didn't embarrass myself, which is always nice.  I was proud of myself for finishing my first shawl and how I handled myself and also that I didn't experience any anxiety.
When I was done, I went back home to pick up my phone and call hubby to see if he was ready for me to pick him up or see if he wanted me to wait for a little bit.  I'm glad I called as I found out that when I dropped him off he tried to pick up the truck and the corporate card wouldn't go through to pay for it.  He was there for over an hour trying to get a hold of some higher up to process a card to pay for the truck but they were all in a meeting so he ended up calling one of the ladies that works for him to come pick him up and take him into the school.  When I called he was just straightening out the situation and he said he would call me back later.  I was on hold.
Later, when hubby called me back, they had gotten a corporate card and gone over to get the truck.  They had just finished loading the truck and he would be driving it home himself shortly.  Then he would be taking me out to dinner to Golden Corral, the all you can eat place.  He got home about 2pm and we headed right out again in our car.  The funny thing is hubby rents a UHaul or Ryder truck once a quarter and parks it in front of our house.  Inevitably we get one neighbor or another asking if we are moving out, or if hubby is moving out.  So funny!
Hubby and I are really tight on money and do have some bills that we are behind on paying, so you may ask, why did we go out to dinner?  We did because hubby is leaving at 530am tomorrow morning and not coming back until Saturday night late.  We try to do something special like eating out when we are going to be apart.  That way we can focus on each other and talk, without the distraction of the animals and all the cooking and cleaning up.
We are trying to make an early night of it tonight so hubby can get some sleep before getting up so early.  You really have to have all your faculties alert when you are driving a 32 foot truck!
