Today was a shopping day. Last night hubby and I got the munchies and decided to get up early for the Thursday and go have breakfast at Dunkin Donuts. So this morning when the alarm went off at 9, hubby and I talked briefly about sleeping in and skipping the dunuts but decided to do the budget real quick, check off what bills had been paid and what we still needed to pay. So we pulled up the bank account and did some quick figuring. We wrapped that up and then got ready and went to Dunkin Donuts.
It was nice, there was lots of donuts to choose from but this time I decided to just have the jellied donut holes, 4 of them. And when the donut guy gave me the chocolate holes by mistake, he gave me the jellied holes and told me to keep the chocolate ones too. Bonus! Hubby got some cake donuts and we both go drinks. Since the conversation pit was occupodoed, we sat at a table. It was nice, we had a little over an hour before hubby had to be at work. We are some donuts and then left to go to the Kum and Go to get air in our car tire, a daily occurrence. Then we had to go to both our banks to deposit some money in each account. Before we left home, we checked both accounts and made sure that in our account my social security disability deposit goes into, that we covered the overdraft in there and that there was enough money for the mortgage to be paid. And there was. The deposit was did was so there would be a couple of dollars left in each account, just in case.
After that was over, I dropped hubby off and went to Walmart. I was looking for a present for Abbey, Holly's daughter that was turning 2 in a couple of days. Her birthday party is Saturday and she likes art projects. I remember Crayola used to make a type of painting book that you just used a brush with water on it and when you put it on the page, it would turn colors. But I couldn't find that at Walmart. I looked for watercolors and painting books or finger paints but couldn't find that there either. Last night I dreamed about going to Target to find everything so I headed down the road after buying 2 tomato plants, some Vitamin D, and a sparkly spirit stick. The spirit stick has colored beads and stars in it and when you turn it one way, it all floats down and it's made for small kids and grown ups with needs for meditation.
I was headed to Target when I decided to go to Hobby Lobby instead. There I found finger paints and large tablets but decided on a marker and watercolor tablet with washable markers and watercolors for Abbey. I got a gift bag and a sewing kit, the sewing kit so I can fix hubby's pants. This all came to $23. I expected to spend under $20 but the sewing kit ran it over. I got the sewing kit for 40% off due to being able to pull up a coupon on my phone. Took a few minutes but well worth it! I downloaded the ap Retail Me Not and have used it many times at both Michael's and Hobby Lobby. You can also get coupons for Joanne's and a bunch of other places too!
Then I called hubby and he said we could switch out the car anytime. Since I was just going to go home and play with the animals, talk to the neighbors, get on the computer, but mostly wanted to go home to take off my boots and my socks, I went over and picked him up at the school. Then he drove me home and dropped me off. Tried to talk him into changing into a short sleeve shirt because the temperature was going up to 86 today, but he was happy in his long sleeve shirt with the sleeves pulled up to his elbows. And he had a short sleeved shirt in his office if he got too hot.
I spent the rest of the day doing a few projects. I went next door and told Dave, Rose's dad, that I was going with hubby to a doctor's appointment in the morning so I wouldn't be able to go walking. Turns out hubby isn't taking me to the doctor's so he can leave from there and go directly to Denver. Bummer! But I will get to sleep in, so maybe not so bad. But I did want to be there when the physician's assistant looked at and removed the skin cancer from his arm. But oh, well! He wants to get up to Denver as soon as possible in the morning.
I started going through our massive collection of usb drives and marking some of the permanent ones, like all the ER ones and the one with all the seasons of Northern Exposure. And I wanted to find the one with Little Women of LA and Little People on it. I did but the Little Women of LA wouldn't play so I will have to try that out on the tv. If it still won't play I will have to have hubby reload the show so I can watch them. I think they have another season out now too. Going through all the flash drives is a lot of work and I haven't finished. We have a lot of them. Our tv in the bedroom is a smart tv. You can load stuff onto the flash drive and plug it directly into the tv. The tv also picks up the wireless internet and we play Hulu Plus, Netflix, Amazon and YouTube on it. There is a bunch of other things on there that we could get if we subscribe to them but we seem to be set.
Hubby came home on time tonight and picked up Panda Express for dinner. I had eaten some pasta salad for dinner earlier, I got hungry. Hubby didn't get off until 830pm and normally I can wait but tonight I couldn't. We ate, he went downstairs to smoke for a little, pot is legal here in Colorado, you know. He is also paying the mortgage. We like paying it as soon as we have the money two weeks early. Takes a little interest off. Now we are going upstairs to finish watching Jurassic Park 2. Then we are going to rewatch another episode of Last Man on Earth on Hulu Plus. Since he has to get up so early, we are going to call it an early night.
Tomorrow I plan on taking it easy at the house. Watch a couple of episodes of Homicide Hunter on the USB drives, when I find it, and start to work on the craft room. Do some crochet. Plan dinner. Yes, I'm going to try and cook something! Will let you know how it turns out.
