Today was a jammie day. Yes, that's right, I lived the impossible dream for most of you, and never got dressed, all day long! But I still got up at 9am. I didn't even take a nap, I was so awake. It was rough as I kept wanting to get dressed, but the lazy ass part of me just didn't want to, so I didn't. I'm not sure how many more of these jammie days I really have left in me.
I am back to drinking just my weak tea again, yeah! For awhile there, tea was tasting bad so I added a touch of organic lemonade to it, almost an Arnold Palmer, which is half tea, half lemonade, but mine was just a skosh of lemonade. But I stopped drinking as much as I should during the day and started to turn to soda again. Big amounts of soda and not just soda, full calorie soda! I was drinking 1 to 2 biggie sized sodas from Kum and Go that I could get, every day! And I have still lost weight! I am down to 188.7lb!
I am down to 188.7lbs, all without walking and eating regularly, at least as regularly as I can. Most of the time I'm not eating breakfast again, choosing to just eat lunch when I do get hungry. But I do have Cheerios for when I do want breakfast. I'm still nursing my sprained ankle, wanting to start walking again but since it still hurts when I sit cross-legged, I am a little afraid that I will twist it again so I am not walking yet.
I have made sure I fed the rats early this morning, they got a much more realistic portions of pear, grapes and carrot for fresh food and more of the rat chow mix that has dried corn and little rattie pellets that aren't alfalfa. Dylan and Zeke like it a lot.
I took Dylan and Zeke out for some free range time, we went into the bathroom where I could shut the door and let them run loose. I sat down with them, took them out of their travel cage and shut the door so Dylan would have to interact. Dylan is really shy and not adventurous like Zeke. Zeke is defiantly the dominate rat. But in shutting the cage and sitting with them, they started to explore. I did have to get up and go out and when I came back, I made a loud noise and scared them badly. Dylan ran behind the trash and didn't want to come out. I tried a piece of cookie, gram cracker, nothing. I finally just ended up leaning over and talking to him and he did venture out. He came over to me and got behind my back, between me and the wall I was leaning on. But he did let me reach behind me and pet him every once in a while.
Zeke explored. I had brought in a cardboard box I cut a hole in the side in, a small basket with a bunch of sponges. I need to get them some balls and rawhide. I heard the rawhide is good for their teeth.
I had to leave them in the bathroom while I changed out their cage. I noticed that the new bedding I got them, the natural recycled paper, they put all of it out of the tree house. And it was making their fresh food harder to eat, absorbing the juices from it and making a mess. So instead, I lined the bottom of the base with newspaper. Then I put bedding only in the corner of the cage where they do their toilet. I also cut up an old towel and lined the wire walkways in their big cage. They were so excited when I put them back in, they jut ran all around and explored. I could tell they were happy.
I need to remember to ask hubby where the camera is so I can start getting pictures of Dylan and Zeke. I would like to start a facebook page for them. Rats only live around 2 years old and these boys are only 9 months old now, so we have some time to have adventures. I really want to give them a good life.
