Today was an early day. I started out the morning looking forward to walking my dogs with my neighbor's teenage daughter, Rose, at 9am. I set the alarm for 830am, to make sure I could wake up properly, nice and slow, then have time to get dressed and be ready for when she came over. So I got up, hubby got up, and I got dressed and waited for Rose but she didn't come. In the meantime hubby had gotten ready for work and took off. I waited and watched tv, tried to go back to sleep but to no avail. I figured that since she was so punctual last time she came over a week ago that maybe she had just forgotten since I told her last Tuesday that I wasn't going to walk until today. No harm, no foul, as they say. So I considered taking the dogs on my own but really didn't feel like taking two walks, one with the two small ones, Kira and Cookie, and then one with our big one, Baby. So I moved on downstairs to the kitchen.
By now it was lunch time and I was hungry since I didn't eat any breakfast. I fed the animals earlier and now it was my turn. I made a ham and swiss cheese sandwich and drank some of my wonderful iced tea that hubby was so kind as to make for me last night. We take a gallon size glass jar and put 2 Luzianne family sized ice tea bags in it then fill it up with cold water. Then we put the whole thing in the fridge and let it sit overnight. By morning, the tea is ready. Now I like my tea on the weak side, that's why I only use two family sized tea bags. So I drank a lot of tea.
Then I ate the rest of my large popcorn from the movies on Sunday. Seeing two movies made me eat most of the popcorn but I decided to finish off the rest of it. And save the container so I can take it back for the free refill as I am likely to do later in the week, or next Saturday.
Rose came over later in the afternoon to apologize for sleeping in and not coming over. I told her I should have reminded her when it was closer and it was fine. We set up Wednesday as the next day to meet at 9. I told her I understood from her dad that she was going to start babysitting and she told me she was going to save up money to get her own car next year. I told her in July I could start paying her $10 a week for helping me to walk. I will look at our finances and see if I could stretch it to $15 a week. But I think $10 for 3 times a week is fair for 30 minutes worth of work each day.
Hubby called and I told him we were out of lunch meat and cheese so he went to the store and got that and dog and cat wet food. He also picked up some roast beef and rolls. Then he brought everything home and we made him a couple of sandwiches to take with him to Denver.
I spent the rest of the night downstairs in the craft room, on the computer and playing with rattie boys. When I cleaned out their cage, I put them in the travel cage and took them up to the bathroom with me. I brought their evening food and hand fed then choice bits. They got some running around time and we got some good interaction. I pet and kissed them both.
Dinner was a tart cherry salad that hubby had picked up while he was at the grocery store. I fed the ratties some cheese, bacon and chicken. Hubby got home about 10pm. He has decided to take the day off tomorrow so I am hoping it will be a dry day, it's raining right now, and we can put up the two person swing I bought for the front yard. I have therapy in the morning then Holly and Abbey are supposed to come over for lunch.
