Today was a traveling day. We got up at 8 and were out of the house at 915am. We gassed up and got out of the springs by 10.
We drove to Las Cruces, NM and got to our daughter, Sarah's, at 930. We visited and then went to the hotel.. Really tired so more details tomorrow.
Good night!

Today was a waiting day. Waking up and got ready to go take hubby to work so I could take the car and go to Pat's house to take pictures of the appliances she has for sale so I could make ads for craigslist. But even though I had gotten up at 7, gotten dressed and waited for hubby to do the same, he tells me that the roads are too icy and snow packed from all the snow we have had in the last 24 hours that he was not comfortable with me out on them. Schools were all being delayed and businesses delayed opening so he would get to work and see if he was comfortable with me driving midday.
After he got to work, he called and said that he would prefer if I just stayed at home all day. So I called Pat and told her. She understood, she doesn't drive on roads like this either, her son drives her during this time. And she was only going over to the house for a little while, leaving after half a day. So she wished me well on my trip and told me to enjoy my grandbabies.
I then laid back down and slept until 11. I had turned the thermostat down to 66 and was getting a little cold so I changed into a sweatshirt and leggings. I needed to wash my jeans anyway so that worked out good. I started the laundry. I spent the rest of the day drawing up instructions about the animals for Frank, who will be watching the animals while we are gone.
Hubby picked Frank up when he was done with work and then went to a place we like for BBQ once in a while, Rudy's. It's on the opposite side of town so took them awhile to get there and back, but it was worth the wait. The three of us had dinner then I walked Frank around how to feed the animals. The cats are tricky.
I got the clothes out of the dryer and started putting them away. I found a suitcase to use for me, hubby has one to use for himself. We are going to pack and then pack the car so we don't have to do it in the morning. So excited and nervous at the same time! I can't think of much to take. I keep thinking I need to pack a bunch of stuff to do but then I think I will be busy there so won't have time to do much, but will never know until I get there. So I am going to take my coloring books and gel pens or colored pencils. Some yarn for crocheting. Some books to read. My computer. I want to send postcards while I am out on the road and at Sarah's so I am taking my bedside notebook with some addresses in it.
There is so much to do but it is hard to get started. It doesn't seem real. But tomorrow I should be at Sarah's and then Sunday I will wake up and see the grandbabies. I love them and now I will realize how much I miss them.

Today was a cold day. We have been having snow for the last couple of days,on and off. More on than off. Today was a stay at home day so I got dressed in some sweatpants and a housecoat and made the bed. Since I am trying to keep the thermostat down to 66 during the day, I stay upstairs because that is the warmest room of the house.
Because we are leaving on Saturday to go to our daughter, Sarah's, in Las Crewces, NM, our friend, Frank, is coming to stay at the house to take care of the animals for us for the week. So I started to clean the bathroom. I got about half way through it before I just couldn't do anymore. I called hubby and explained the situation to him and he said to stop and let him finish when he came home. He also had to shovel the walk when he got home around 9pm.
Tomorrow I have to take hubby to work, then go over to Pat's house to take pictures of her appliances to post on craigslist. Then I have to go buy a digital camera to take with us to Sarah's. Maybe I will go buy the digital camera first, then go over to Pat's. I have to remember to get a notebook also.

Today was a sick day. It started off at 4am for me, waking up hearing the sounds of hubby retching in the hall bathroom. His bathroom is the hall bathroom because it is bigger and has more counter room for his shaving kit. He also likes the toilet in there better too, it doesn't have a soft seat on it like our bedroom bath does. Anyhow, he had been up for about an hour with a queasy stomach and then started throwing up. I woke up at 4 and hear him then waited for him to come back to bed. I got him some kool aid and tucked him in. His tummy was empty and I told him to sip the liquid slowly and try to get some sleep. He did pretty well until around 8, when he got sick again, dry heaves since he didn't have anything to get out.
Because he was still sick and had been up so much during the early morning, he called in sick. I checked him but he wasn't warm so that was a good sign. We thought maybe it was the food we ate last night or the ice cream we had after. Either way, I was feeling fine, which was a good sign. We kept an eye on him because we are due to leave in 3 days to go see our newest granddaughter and see Lili, her big sister. We are driving out on Saturday so we really wanted to make sure hubby is healthy by then.
We laid around watching tv and hubby, who works during this time and rarely sees daytime tv, laughed at some of the commercials that play. Later in the afternoon, he was feeling well enough to go with me to Costco and Walmart to get pet food that we needed. We needed to go to Costco first, and get dog food and the lemonade that I use with my tea. I was hungry, hadn't eaten since the morning so while I got a slice of pizza and a soda, hubby got the dog food and the lemonade.
Next we went to Walmart. The weather was moving in and we were getting a light sprinkling of snow by the time we got there. We had to get canned dog food and cat food, a pair of night pants for hubby, that didn't have holes in the butt like the ones he wore now, and a couple of outfits for the babies. We quickly shopped and got home because hubby was starting to feel poorly again. By the time we got home, the snow was coming down in droves! We got everything out of the car, into the house and then I put everything away while hubby took a breather. After that, I made him some scrambled eggs and raisin toast. Since I had eaten at Costco, I didn't want to eat anything else.
We relaxed for the evening and hubby was feeling much better. When we wake up in the morning, we will have only 2 days left until we leave to see the grandbabies!

Today was a ogle day. What's an ogle? Hell if I know but that is what today felt like. We started up getting up early enough for me to eat a banana and then take hubby to work. I had therapy this week as I will be gone next week in Las Crewces, NM. Then I will see Steve again, then HE will be gone for two weeks after that.
So Steve and I talked about somethings that hubby and I can do while we are at Sarah's house with the little ones. Steve said it was important that hubby and I take a couple of times a day a chance to rest together and talk, make sure we are doing well and not being overly stressed. We should make sure that we get out of the house at least once a day, maybe taking our granddaughter, Lili, as she is called, out to McDonald's playland or the the mall.
So after I was done with therapy, I went over to Holly's house to crochet for a little while. I finished the main piece of the stole I designed. Yeah! It is a royal purple and I had Holly put it on so I could see how it looked on someone else. It looks totally cool! Next I need to crochet around the body of it in red. Not exactly sure how I am going to do that, but I will figure it out tomorrow.
I called Pat to see if she would be at her house so I could go over and take pictures of the appliances that she is selling to put up ads on craigslist but she won't be there until Thursday or Friday. So I went and picked up hubby and we switched the car.
When hubby got off of work, he picked me up and took me out to Hu Hot, the Mongolian BBQ Place.

Today was a bankruptcy day! Hubby and I had bankruptcy court today and I was nervous so inspite of being about to sleep in today, I was awake at 9am. The funny part is hubby must have been up earlier because when I got up and went downstairs, the dogs stayed in bed and didn't follow me. In fact I came back upstairs to check and make sure they were inside because they always go downstairs with me.
Since we had gotten about 10 inches of snow yesterday and everything closed down, I started watching the screen scroll on the news to see if hubby's school was going to be closed with all the rest of the schools that were closed. There was a lot of closures and finally hubby's school came up. Everybody listed was closed and hubby's school was only delayed for 2 and a half hours. I sat and watched the news for a while and played on the computer, deleting emails and looking on facebook. About 10am I got a call and when I answered there was a recording saying something. Once. I thought it said that due to road conditions, Colorado Technical School was closed. Then hubby's phone rang and luckily it was the same recording so we knew it was school closing. Yeah! That meant that hubby didn't have to take the day off as a vacation day, it was a snow day!
So we got something to eat and got ready to go. We were leaving an hour and a half early to head downtown for the Bankruptcy Court at 230. The roads were snow packed and icy. We went very slowly heading downtown. Now the courthouse was in a different place than the address we had on the paperwork to report to today. So we went to the address and found the building. We found parking and went inside.
The attorney told us that if we wanted to see what we would be doing, we could watch the people before us. And we did. I brought my crochet to work on and sat and did that while listening to the trustee ask questions to the different people. Some had simple cases, didn't have assets and owed a lot of money. Some had complicated situations and the trustee asked lots of questions and wanted a lot of additional paperwork and stuff. Those people got told what else to give the court for review and got rescheduled to come back in April. One guy was up there for a long time and still had to get a lot more information and come back in April.
Our attorney showed up minutes before we were due to be called up and we met with him outside the court room. We signed a couple of pieces of paper that the court needed and he gave us the rundown on what was going to happen, answered our questions and in we went.
The trustee called us up. He asked if any of our creditors were there and none were. That was a good sign, nobody was contesting the bankruptcy. The trustee went through our paperwork and asked some questions about our taxes and past refunds, then about our current 2014 taxes, which we have not filed yet. He asked us a couple of more questions but since the only real asset we have is the house, our cars are 15 years old and older, there wasn't a whole lot of things we owned. So we were done. The attorney met with us after and said in about 75 days he would get a letter from the court saying our debt was discharged.
We left feeling so much lighter and left to go to the store on the way home. We were picking up a few things to make lasagna when we got home. Meatless. We also got potatoes so later this week I can make potato, ham and onion soup. That way Frank, who will be watching the house when we are gone to our daughter, Sarah's, will have something to eat.

Today was a snowy day! Though today we would normally sleep in and then get up in time to get ready to go to mass, because we got 10 inches of snow yesterday and today, hubby decided it was too dangerous for us to venture out on the roads today to go to church and the car has ice over an inch thick on it, with big sections of snow/ice. So hubby let me sleep in until I woke up at 1130am. After I was awake and aware, hubby got dressed and went out to shovel the walk and driveway. I like to be able to keep an eye out on him when he shovels the walk and driveway because people have heart attacks doing the heavy lifting. So every 10 minutes or so I will get up and look out the window and watch him to see how he is doing.
I asked him when he came in, when he was done, if the snow was mallable enough to be able to make a snowman out of or a snow creature and he said in a day or so it will be. It's too fluffy right now to pack well. That was one of the things that make it easy to shovel, it was fluffy snow. After hubby got the walk and driveway done for us and our elderly neighbor, the elderly neighbor got out his snow blower and went over everything and got the bottom layer that was left, off.
Hubby and I remade the bed, there isn't anything nicer than clean, fresh sheets and a clean comforter! Then we did laundry. Just after he finished the walkways outside, we made a nice omelet with bacon, red bell pepper and shredded cheddar cheese. We topped it with some sour cream and salsa. It was so good! I could only eat half of mine. I also had 3 pieces of raisin bread toast. I didn't want to stop eating. In fact, I ate the rest of the red bell pepper afterwards, so sweet and crunchy.
We spent the rest of the day doing laundry, napping and going over the paperwork for tomorrow, our court date for our bankruptcy, the Big B. We have to go to court and meet the trustee to swear that these are our debts, that we can't pay them and we are asking for the debts to be discharged.
Later in the evening we watched The Walking Dead and Talking Dead, our favorite shows. Earlier we watched some 30Something on Hulu and Medium on Netflix. Then we also watched somemore Apprentice UK season 5 on YouTube.

Today was a happy day! We stayed up late the night before so set the alarm for 10am. We had to get up with the dogs earlier, let them out, let them in, let them out. And then, since it was so nice, I left all of them out while we finished sleeping. At 10, when the alarm went off, I told hubby to set it for 1015. Then I slept for only 5 minutes and was ready to get up. I jumped in the shower and hubby stayed in bed until I was done. We managed to get dressed and out of the house about 11, only a couple of minutes late. We were going over to Pat's house to have hubby talk to her about how to set up a square account and what the cost is. I told her that accepting credit cards at her estate sale will allow people to spend more money.
So we made it over to Pat's house and hubby started to tell her about a square account and then Pat's daughter in law said she had just gotten all set up for an account and the doo-hicky you use on your smart phone to swipe the card was coming. Hubby said he has a dozen of them at work and he would send me with a couple. So that was set up. And the cost is only 2%!
We walked through the house and I made some comments about where to put some tables and how to put some different things out. Then Pat gave me the material she was going to pay me with so I could take it home and get it out of the house. We filled up the car!
We got out of there and did some banking, then went to the grocery store to pick up some fruit and some lunch. We decided on having some bbq chicken, coleslaw, mac n cheese and biscuits. We got the meal deal for $10.99. Fed us for lunch and for dinner. When we got home, we unpacked the car so tomorrow I am going to clear off the shelves for the material and unpack the boxes. Then I am going to see what kind of stuff she gave me.
We spent the rest of the day relaxing and rediscovering some old tv shows like 30something and Just Shoot Me.

Today was sick day. I woke up feeling better but still had the cough in my chest. I forgot to take my MucinexD last night, so I took one this morning and will take one tonight. Hopefully this will clear it up and the cough will be gone tomorrow. Which will be good as hubby is off tomorrow and the day will nice. We plan on bathing the dogs tomorrow after we go and meet my friend Pat who is having an estate sale in mid-March. She is moving out of her house and into an apartment with her daughter so she is having to do some major downsizing. Since I have experience in garage sales and hosting them for others, I offered my services for her. We worked out a trade and she agreed to pay me in material, cloth, that they have to get rid of so I will take that instead of a cut of the profits. Tomorrow we are going to meet with Pat and hubby is going to explain to Pat how a square account works and how I can get it to work on my phone cause she won't have wireless internet set up in her house. He is also going to look at what I was thinking of how to set up the house and give me his input too.
So today I stayed in bed, in my jammies and rested today. I did make sure to turn off the tv at 4pm for the whole hour this time. Yeah! I am going to build up to spending this time reading the bible and doing housework. I'm not even looking up Dr Phil on YouTube and watching him. It is harder than I thought to do this, turning off the tv. I admit I am addicted to it. I need that lights and sounds going on around me so that I don't think as much or my thoughts start racing and I get overwhelmed. So for now, I am reading my book and watching videos on YouTube. My goal for next week is to do more. I am going to try and control the leaning tower of stuff on my nightstand and put some of it away so I can get to my bible. I want to start using my organizational thing that Cassie got me for Christmas.

Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2015
Today was a celebratory day. Since coming back to the Catholic Church, this is my first religious holiday, Ash Wednesday. It is the first day of Lent, a time of reflection mirroring the 40 days that Jesus spent in the dessert getting tempted by Satan. We turn away from sin, believing in the Gospel. During this time, we give up something that we like. In my case, I am giving up watching Dr Phil. I love to watch Dr Phil every day at 4pm, right after Ellen. I am turning off the tv and doing something else. My goal is to uncover my bible and spend that hour reading it and doing some housework. At least that is my intent but today I had our cat DeWan in my lap. I don't like to make my cats moved when they are showing me affection so I sat there at pet him while reading a fiction book. I managed to sit there with the tv off for 40 minutes then since I was still sitting there with DeWan on my lap, I turned on the tv and watched something else for 20 minutes.
So I got up at 730am and got dressed in record time, got out the door and scraped off the car. It was cold but the temperature was going to be in the 40s today so I was dressed appropriately in a sweatshirt, a hoodie from hubby's university. I got to the church on time and made it in to mass minutes before it started.
Father Paul started off with a re-baptism of a young man that is in the army and heading off to the middle east to a town near where ISIS is reported to be. Then Father Paul did a blessing of woman who was heading off into major surgery. We celebrated mass and then we lined up and Father Paul and his assistants marked our foreheads with the sign of the cross in ashes. We walk around all day with this on our foreheads and when you go out in public, people will stop you and tell you that you have something on your forehead. Then you explain about your religion and what the symbolism means.
So mass was over at 9 and I rushed home so that hubby could take the car to head into work early and then head up to the bookstore in Denver. After I saw hubby off, I changed into my housecoat and leggings and settled in the bedroom to read and play on the computer. Mostly I was reading my book by Debbie Macomber. She is the only romance writer I read. I stared with reading her knitting series about Blossom Street and like her style. I think her romance books are ok, they don't have these really passionate love scenes at all and that's good for me.
I ate a really late lunch, cheese, salami and crackers. I filled up so full that when hubby was getting off work, I didn't feel like eating any dinner. So when hubby went to the grocery store for oj for me, he got the makings of a homemade pizza for tomorrow and a can of stew for himself for tonight. I felt bad about not cooking any dinner but I thought I still had a chicken to bone in the fridge. Come to find out, hubby had been eating it while I was sick and not eating. So I was at a loss of what to eat so when hubby called and talked about dinner, I realized I wasn't going to eat anything later.

Today was a not expected day. I had to get up with hubby because I had to take him to work so I could have the car for therapy and a doctor appointment. We went to what is now his favorite place to go every morning for coffee and breakfast, Kum & Go. I got a citrus soda and an omelet in a flour tortilla and hubby got a flavored coffee and a breakfast sandwich.
We drove back to hubby's office and I dropped him off with a nice kiss goodbye, then headed back the way we had come as my therapist, Steve, is in the exact opposite direction one mile past the house. But as I was going back up Austin Bluffs, we came to a stand still. An accident just happened and was right in the middle of the road. Pretty bad accident by the looks of it, one car didn't have an axle in the rear and the car was facing the wrong direction. There was a lane open on one side so we were all nice driver's and lined up to keep going. The cops showed up before I got past and started directing traffic. Looked like all the people got out of their cars so were not banged up too badly.
Therapy was good. I talked to Steve about not being able to eat much, all the new aversions I am having. I have lost 8 pounds in the last couple of weeks, I'm down to 192 now. Since I am eating healthy food when I do eat, and I am taking a multivitimen, he said that I shouldn't worry too much about it. Maybe I should check out some vegetarian dishes since a lot of my food aversions seem to be with meat. Nothing tastes good anymore since I started this medication about 5 months ago. I can't eat ground hamburger or ground chicken or anything ground. If it is in the form of a patty, like a hamburger patty, I can only eat a couple of bites out of it before I start thinking what it is made of and I can't eat anymore of it. Most of the time I am only eating a little at a time. We talked about it and he said we will keep an eye on it.
I went over to Holly's and dropped off 3 chickens. I didn't stay because I was sick with this cough and didn't want her or Abbey to catch it. I left and went to Einstein Bagels to get a veggie bagel sandwich with potato salad for lunch.
I headed back along the way to go to my bone density scan at the medical center but then there was another accident. This one closed down the road and we had to wait in line to get up to the point where the police were telling us to make a U turn. I had to take an alternate route to get to the medical center.
I checked in at the medical center and took a seat. I started reading my book and shortly later they called me back. But as soon as I got back, the technician explained that the MRI I just had last week with contrast dye made it so I couldn't get the bone scan for at least another week, the dye interferes with the machine's ability to scan so she took me back to her office and booked me an appointment for after I get back from Las Cruces, NM. Hubby and I are going there to see our new granddaughter, Shay Li, who was born on the 15th. We also get to see 15 month old Li An. We are so excited!
I came home and rested for awhile, then had to go pick hubby up from work early since I had a Red Hat function tonight. Today is Fat Tuesday so us Red Hatters were going to iHop to eat pancakes.
I met the rest of the Red Hatters at iHop and there was a lot of us! We got settled and started to gab, talking about the trips some of them were taking and the trip in August to the big convention. We ordered and ate and talked some more. It was a fun time.
Once I got home, hubby and I had to do our post filing bankruptcy course. So we spent the next 3 hours doing that course and will have to sign on tomorrow to talk to the counselor and get our certificate.

Today was a sick day. I woke up briefly when hubby was getting ready to leave for work and then went back to sleep. I woke up around 11. I started coughing and realized that when I coughed, it hurt in my chest. I have been congested and full of snot as of late. So I called hubby and asked him to bring me home so Mucelex D and a gallon of OJ.
I laid back down and rested until he came home for lunch, around 1. He heated up some of the leftover roast and potatoes and I took a big glass of oj and a Mucelex D. They are good for 12 hours so I figure I would take the next one at midnight. Then I went back upstairs and back to bed. That is how I spent my day, reading and on the computer, resting when I could.
Hubby came home and made me chicken soup for dinner and got me more oj. He heated up some leftovers for himself for dinner and then sat down with me to watch tv. Later we watched The Blob. We like watching a movie at night around 10pm.

Today was a new life day! I'm skipping ahead of the day to tell you the best news first. Our daughter, Sarah, had her baby girl at 655pm tonight! She is a beautiful girl and was named Shay Li, meaning Gift for Me. Just Beautiful!
We have arranged for a friend of ours to come stay in the house while we go on vacation and go stay with Sarah and our two granddaugters, Li An & Shay Li. We are leaving at the end of the month for a week in Las Cruces, NM. It will take us about 9 hours to drive out and we will take the cooler so we can have a nice lunch and not be stuck with fast food. We won't have much money and will be staying with Sarah, taking over care for the house and fixing food. We arranged with Sarah when to come out and what we will be doing. We have some big sister presents for Li An and have a double stroller for Sarah so she can take both girls places and not have to carry them. It is a stroller with one child in front of the other, just like Sarah wanted. We have to get it out of the garage and I will have to clean it before we leave. It has been sitting out in the garage since the fall.
Today hubby and I got up and I told him we would stay home from mass since he was in so much pain from walking home Saturday. I cancelled going because there was no way he could sit on a wooden bench for an hour. So instead hubby went to the grocery store while I went to get my hair re-cut.
The lady who cut my hair on Friday was working at Great Clips when I walked in and it looked like she was going to be the stylist for me again so I made eye contact with another lady and asked her if she could re-cut my hair. See, if you hold onto the receipt, and you don't like the way your hair came out, you can go back within a couple of days and they will redo your hair for free. You are expected to tip the stylist and I did.
I was much happier with my hair cut, the stylist listened this time and did what I wanted her to do. I got a card with her name on it and will call before I go in again so I can get her to do it again.
Hubby mad ea roast, rare, for us for dinner. It was good and I ate a slice with a couple of pieces of potatoes and coleslaw.

Today was a physical day. We started early, around 745am, me waking up suddenly when hubby told me (for the 3rd time he said) we had to leave in 20 minutes. Well, I had to wet my head as the hair stylist did this spiky, punky style and it was awful. She gave me a haircut that looks like Rusty's on Major Crimes, a bowl cut! And she used all this hairspray to make it stand on end. So I wet my hair down and blew it dry. Looks a lot better than what she did to me but I still need to go back in and get it cut the correct way.
So I drop hubby off at work after we stopped at Kum & Go, a chain of gas stations and store that I resisted when they first came to Colorado Springs. What a weird name and I was a good 7-11er. But one day, hubby went in one. He liked it. He took me there and it was shiny and new. The uniforms the staff wore were nice and clean. The staff smiled and were helpful. The drinks were labled Big, Bigger & Biggest. They had the new, multiple soda machine that could do everything. They even had tea, sweetened and unsweetened. They had freshly made breakfast sandwiches in the morning and something that was an omelet in a flour tortilla! Yum!
So we stopped at Kum & Go for breakfast then I dropped hubby off at work and headed in to the Zoo. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, for a Docent meeting. I brought my crochet so I would stay awake and try to concentrate on what they were saying. We went through all the agenda, hear opposing views on some by-laws, voted and then it was time for the potluck. The night before while I was getting my terrible hairstyle, hubby went to the grocery store and bought 3 packages of little smokie sausages and two bottles of bbq sauce. Last night he put all of it and a cup of jelly into the crockpot. So I brought that for the potluck. People ate and all was good.
After lunch I took my crockpot back to the car, up the really steep hill where I had to park on Zoo grounds. Then I had to walk all the way back down the hill to the Safari Lodge to attend the afternoon session of the Docent class for the new Docents. I needed to get 2 continuing education credit and you get one for attending a morning or an afternoon session. This was my afternoon session. I will come back on March 14th for another session to make sure I have two credits.
I did a lot of crocheting but had to quit in Safari Lodge as it was just too hot in there for me to continue. I put it away and sat there for the last hour. Then I tried to call hubby to let him know when I was going to be able to pick him up but he had already walked home the 6 miles. So I went to the store and picked up potatoes, onions, Pepsi and an angel food cake. We had strawberries at home and that was perfect to cook some strawberries with sugar and put over the angel food cake. And that is just what hubby did at the end of the evening.

Today was a great day! Hubby had the day off since he had to work on Saturday here in the Springs. Next Saturday hubby has to work in Denver, but for today, he was off. We slept in and woke up slowly. Hubby had gotten up earlier and opened the door for the dogs, but forgot to turn off the heat. Got to get him to remember that! That's probably one of the reasons why our heating bill was so high last month!
So I got the heat turned off. And we relaxed for a few hours before getting showers and getting dressed. We had to run a couple of errands today. The first errand was to take my phone in to Batteries Plus to get a new battery and a new charger. Batteries Plus is in the neighborhood so inspite of being hungry, we went there first.
I gave them my phone and they took off the cover and discovered it was one of their batteries. They looked up the date and we identified our credit card. It showed that I bought the battery and a charger less than a year ago. He tested the battery then the charger and found them both to be defective so he replaced them, free of charge. Yeah! So Batteries Plus has a customer for life!
Next we went next door to Rescue Thrift Store, a thrift store that operates to raise funds so they can give $500 grants to different rescue organizations. We found a couple of books and a zombie dvd, Diary of the Dead. I also saw Hymalian Chews, a product I saw on Shark Tank not long ago. They make chews out of yak and cows milk, salt and lime. Totally edible by dogs and people. They were expensive, 3 for $28 but I decided to try them for my dogs, so I bought them. Not that we have any money to splurge right now but since I didn't have to pay for the battery and charger, I felt like the thrift store could use the money and my dogs could use a treat.
Then we went to Gunther Toody's for lunch. Hubby got the special, french dip with fries and a bowl of green chili while I got the Taco Salad without the chicken. The food was good and we ate most of it. I had extra sour cream and guacamole I didn't use on my salad so I got containers and brought them home to eat with chips and salsa later.
After lunch we went to Walgreens to get some cash for hubby to go pick up his pot. He has a medical marijuana license so we get some about every two weeks. The last two things we needed to do was get my hair cut and pick up 3 packs of little smokies sausages and bbq sauce for my pot luck tomorrow at the zoo. So hubby dropped me off to get my hair cut while he went next door to King Soopers and bought the food.
The stylist who did my hair cut my hair but pulled and tugged while drying and gave me a punk style cut. She didn't cut much off the top and had it standing up. I also asked for white walls, the hair around my ears to be cut short enough that there would be skin showing. I don't like having my hair on my ears. She did cut my bangs short like I wanted but even hubby says I need to go back in and get it re-cut.
We got home and went upstairs to lay down and relax. We watched a little of Apprentice UK on YouTube, some Major Crimes, and we watched the Diary of the Dead. We were both so full from a late lunch, we didn't want any dinner.

12th Anniversary, Thursday, February 12, 2015
Today was a happy day. Today was mine and hubby's 12th wedding anniversary, not that we were going to do anything since he had to work til 9. Hubby did call me earlier in the day and I told him I was planing on making spanish rice with chicken but he said, no, don't cook, I will bring home a pizza from Road Runner's. It meant we would be eating late but what the heck? I said yes, ok.
So today I crocheted my stole some more and played on the computer. I read some more of my Zero Belly Diet book and checked out facebook. I never got dressed, I never made the bed and I ate cheese and crackers with salami for lunch. A nothing day.
Tomorrow hubby and I are going to go out to lunch to celebrate our anniversary and Valentine's Day since he has to work on Saturday and I have Docent meeting at the zoo then am booked for the afternoon for Docent School so I can get one of my continuing education credits I need. Then I have to do one more afternoon to get my other CS credit on March 14.
When hubby got home, we ate some pizza, watched some tv and cuddled. It was a happy day!

Today was a good day. My morning started off with me waking up gasping for air. I was having what I call my "breathing dream" again. The settings of the dream change but the main theme is the same, I can't breath very well, I'm suffocating. This dream took place in a department store, in the boutique of expensive dresses. There was a lady by the counter and two ladies that were to help the clients as they came in. Mom and I walked in and I was looking at dresses, with ragged breathing, and mom talked to one of the ladies. Mom came back over to me and said she got her measurements done by the lady. I asked if I could do that to, so I would know what size I was for the dresses and she said no, we could only have one of us waited on a visit. So we left. I was still struggling for breath.
We come back to the dress boutique and I started to ask for my measurements when one of the ladies said "Whip cream, inhale the whip cream. That will help you breathe better.". I woke up with my mouth wide open, gasping for breath and not only was my mouth bone dry, but my tongue was dry and hard too. When I wake up like this, it takes a few minutes for me to start breathing right again and get some moisture in my mouth again.
Hubby came in and he was in a rush because time got away from him and he was running late getting ready for work. He got ready while I did my morning pages. After I saw him off to work, I finished my morning pages and then got breakfast. Cherrios with 2% milk and a teaspoon of sugar. Then I took my morning pills and started my day. I got dressed and made the bed.
During the day, I did some reading of Zero Belly Diet, did some more crochet of the stole I am designing.
When it got to be 530pm, I put the chicken neck and organs into a pan and filled with some water. I cooked it for the dogs. I cut up the organs up in tiny pieces and cut up the skin of the neck. I threw away the neck. I seasoned the chicken and put it in the oven to roast. Hubby had just told me on the phone that he was just so tired of eating salami and chicken. So I defrosted a pound of hamburger and seasoned it with mustard, hot sauce and Worcester sauce. Then I split the meat into two patties and when he was on his way home, I fried up the two patties for him. I made salads for the both of us and made chicken stuffing. We ate dinner a little after 9pm.
We watched a Major Crimes and sat on the bed reading together. Joyful night tonight!

Today was a helping day. It started with getting up and helping hubby get ready and off to work. I took him in so I could run to the attorney's place and drop off the paperwork for the Big B. We have court on the 23rd to go in and see the Big B trustee to say Yes, these are our debts, and Yes, we cannot pay for them and whatever else they want to know.
So I went over the paperwork with the receptionist and then said a quick Hi! to the attorney. Then I was off. I still had over an hour before I was to be at Holly's house so I popped down the street into the Goodwill. I was just looking around, wanted to see if they had any different shaped cup cake pans but no, only the standard kind. So I went to look at the books and found a Debbie Macomber book I hadn't read that was about Christmas so I bought it for 99 cents. $1.06 with tax.
I stopped at Kum & Go to get a drink and then headed over to Holly's. Holly and I haven't gotten together to crochet in quite a while so it was nice to start doing it again. I have been working on a design for a stole and using some of my regular yarn to make it while I am working the bugs out of it. I need to write down what I have done so far so I can write up a pattern and then have Holly follow the instructions and see if she can do it too. Make sure the pattern makes sense, then see about doing the pattern in Judithmary's yarn for her. She wants this thick royal purple yarn and then wants the stole trimmed in red. That part of the pattern I will figure out after I finish the main body of it.
After I was done with Holly, I had to come home for a couple of hours and charge my phone. My battery will only hold a charge for about half a day. And my charger will only work in certain angles or positions. And I haven't been able to get a full charge on my phone, the charger cable kept shifting. Today I couldn't get it to work so I finally put the charger and the phone in the bathroom on the counter, trying to find a position that the cord could stay in and I got part of a charge, enough for me to use the phone to call my mom and chat. I would call Cassie and talk to her but she has been calling and chatting with me on Mondays and Wednesday after she is done coaching at the gym, she calls me on her way home and I "keep her company" until she is in the house.
I left my phone charging and went over to Pat's house. Pat is a Queen of a Red Hat chapter that is different from the chapter I belong to, The Ladies of the Red and Purple Cloth. Anyway, Pat is moving out of her long time home and I promised to help her hold an Estate Sale. So we went through the house and looked at all the piles of stuff she has. Her house is small and she has a lot of stuff, I'm not sure how we are going to get everything out. We looked at a calender and decided on the two weekends in March to hold the sale and I told her I would look into setting up a square account so she could take credit cards and cash. Hubby might let me borrow the IPad from his work. If not, we should be able to use my phone to charge cards.
I finished with Pat and went back to see hubby at work, then he took his lunch and drove me home. We decided on this late car switch so I could go home and roast a chicken to have it ready for when he came home for dinner. Problem I found at 6pm, is even though the chicken had been in the fridge since Saturday, it was still frozen in its core, so no chicken tonight. And hubby showed up at home at 630pm instead of 730pm so I offered to make french toast, but when I grabbed the eggs out, we only had 3 eggs and that wouldn't work to make enough french toast for both of us. So we decided not to eat. I wasn't hungry and hubby was going to fix a tv dinner later in the evening. He went to his office for a bit and I fed the beasties. Then we both went upstairs to rest, relax, and watch tv together.
Tomorrow the chicken will be defrosted enough to cook and I will be at home all day. So I get to sleep in but still get up and get dressed. I will be able to start working on Cassie's bouquet. I am feeling strong and able to work on it now.

Today was a hurry up and wait day. Since I had a doctor's appointment this morning, I had to get up and take hubby into work. But since my doctor's appointment wasn't until 1130 and hubby had to be at work at 9, I had a couple of hours to hang out at hubby's work. Since he was going to need to go to the bank about 10am, we ran the errand together, it was nice. Then I left and drove over to the medical center where I was going to have my MRI.
I arrived at the medical center with about half and hour still to wait so I sat in my car listening to the radio and reading my Zero Belly Diet book. Getting in and checking in was a bit of a hassle, I had to wait for the clerk to get to her station, set up her stuff, adjust the monitor just right, make sure she talked to her coworker and then make sure she was ready. Then she checked me in after ambling over to the counter to see if I had paperwork to fill out. I did so she ambled back over to me and handed me the clipboard. I took it and sat down.
I just started to fill out the paperwork when the MRI tech came and got me. She was friendly and took me to the changing room. Since I was wearing jeans and an underwire bra, I had to change into pants and a gown. After I put all my stuff into the locker, I slipped out of the room and went to the chairs. When I went to finish the paperwork, I realized I put my glasses in the locker so when the tech came to get me, she had to read me the questions and write down my answers. We both laughed.
Going into the MRI room, they told me I would be going in feet first since it was my lower leg they would be scanning and I was thrilled! I get a little anxiety when my head goes in, I feel like I am in a coffin. But this would be fine. I didn't count on the fact that I would be lying on my back with a thin pillow under my lower legs and have my feet taped together and having to try to stay perfectly still. My body kept tensing up and I had to keep thinking about relaxing to relax so I was occasionally moving but just a little. It screwed up a little bit of the pictures but I am hoping not a lot.
When I was done, it took about 45 minutes, I got to get to Costco early. I was meeting my friend, Diana, there at 130pm. I arrived at 1 and texted her to let her know I was there. Then when I didn't hear back from her, I texted her again with which Costco I was at, since there is 2 of them in our town. She texted me back that she just woke up from a nap, had overslept, and she was going to hurry and she was sorry. It took her over an hour to get to me at Costco, good thing I had my book and my crochet to keep me occupied.
We ate lunch and then we went shopping. She didn't have a membership so I used my card when she paid for her stuff. We parted company in the parking lot and I went back to hubby's work and picked him up to take me home.
We arrived at home, he got a sandwich and left. I went upstairs to work on some paperwork for the attorney for the Big B. I needed to take it into attorney tomorrow. I made sure we had everything we needed and then fed the beasties. Hubby called and then I started dinner. Beef Stroganoff, one of his new favorites.
We cleaned up from dinner and spent the night together watching episodes of Major Crimes. Rusty got adopted! Yeah!

Today was a Godly day. We got up this morning and took showers, then went to mass at Holy Apostles Catholic Church. I actually was able to follow most of mass this time. Yeah! Father Paul even stopped by our pew and talked to hubby and thank him for being such a special person and doing everything while I was incapacitated. I love my hubby!
We just came back home and had lunch. We found out that hubby's daughter Sarah is going in to the doctor's on Tuesday to see about inducing her earlier, in the 39th week instead of waiting until the 42nd week when she would be 2 weeks overdue, like they did when she was pregnant with Li An, or Lili as they call her. I asked and she said it is pronounced Lee Lee. Anyway, Sarah is done being pregnant and ready to call it a day. I remember when I was pregnant, I was given a choice of trying to induce for one more day or do the C-section and I chose the C-section. We know it is another girl but we won't find out the name until she is born.
After lunch, I laid down for a nap and hubby went and cleaned the car. I woke up when he got back and laid down with me to take a nap. We slept until about 7, then we made scrambled eggs and ham and cinnamon rolls, you know, the kind that come out of a can? They were good.
We finished the night by watching The Walking Dead and the Talking Dead.

Today was a fun day! The day started off at 630 in the frickin morning! I had a meeting with Father Paul from the Holy Apostle Catholic Church at 7am. At least I thought it was 7am but then no Father. So I hung out and read the book Rediscovering Catholicism that I keep in my purse. I popped out to my car and read out there until I saw Father Paul drive up at 730. We met and talked for about an hour then I left.
I stopped at the new neighborhood Dunkin Donuts and got a Bagel, egg & cheese for me, two coffee rolls for me and two heart shaped jello donuts for hubby. These are his favorite and I wanted to surprise him when he woke up. I went home and climbed in bed, ate my bagel sandwich and then went back to sleep for a while.
When I woke up, it was time to get dressed in my purple shirt, black skirt and adorn myself with jewelry to get ready to go on a Red Hat excursion, High Tea. I drove over to Judithmary's house and we shared a ride over the the High Tea event we were invited to. For $15 each, we checked in and told what table we were to sit at. It was a Winter Snowflake theme tea and we each had a snowflake with our name on it as a a seat marker. We were seated at Table 17. I sat between Terry and Lori. There was so many other Red Hat groups there too. We were served a tea that was a secret blend made by the chef and we had the shiners as our waitstaff. They started off with a tray of scones, that was very good, not dry at all. Then we got served deviled eggs with dill pickle decoration. They were so good! Next was an assortment of little sandwiches with tuna salad, chicken salad, cream cheese and cucumber and pimento cheese. There was so many of them! I ate my fill. A fruit plate of strawberries and grapes was passed around.
After so many mini sandwiches, we moved on to cookies and candys, so many different kinds. We must have each drank a gallon of tea and I took mine with cream, which is the first time I have ever done that. It was good. We all ate so much and it still kept coming! I got more than my $15 worth. Not only was the food good, but the company of my fellow Red Hatters was great.
We must have been at high tea about 2 and a half hours! We were all stuff beyond capacity. Judithmary, Terry and I drove back to Judithmary's house. I picked up my car and took Terry home.
After I dropped Terry off at her house, I drove home to find my hubby cleaning the kitchen. He started the laundry, helped me change my clothes and brought me a drink. We sat together and watched music videos of Phil Colins, singing to all the songs we grew up with. A little Peter Gabrille and some Lady Antebellum. Compass is one of my favorite songs. I was so full from Tea that I didn't want to eat any dinner. Hubby made himself some dinner and then came back upstairs and we finished the night watching the movie Horns on Netflix.

Today was a lax day. I woke up early, when hubby was getting ready to go to work, around 8 and took my thyroid pill that has to be taken half an hour before I eat or drink anything, before I take my other morning pills. Then I went back to sleep until 1130. I woke up slowly, trying to remember my dream but couldn't. I know I had risen to the surface of wakefulness a couple of times but was dragged back down to the depths of sleep. Usually this happens when I am involved in a detailed dream and I don't want to get out of it. I just read an article yesterday about lucid dreaming. Things you can do or notice to tell you that you are dreaming. Some people are even able to control things in their dreams! I know I occasionally will dream about zombies and I would wake up in a panic but then I started to be able to rise up in the air, rise up into a tree, then fly and I would be safe. I dream about flying now, and even asked myself in my dream if I could fly across the ocean to another country and the answer is no. In my dream I can't fly very fast and tried to fly over the ocean but was getting so tired and figured out that I can't fly while I sleep. But really I can!
Today I stayed in my jammies all day and stayed on the computer for over 5 hours! I am spending too much time wasted on the computer all day. I got on the computer just after I finished my morning pages, didn't even get breakfast! Shame on me! Anyway, I got on the computer and got on a Brad's Deals and found a 6 pack of long sleeve shirts for hubby in size 2X for $36 shipped. Yeah! I ordered it and didn't tell him. I will give it to him when it comes, he needs some new shirts that aren't from the school. Or stained up.
My new book came today, Zero Belly Diet. I started to read it but then got on the computer again. Stupid computer is taking over my life, it's addictive. Anyway, I have read good reviews about it. It uses real food, some superfoods, in a combination to turn off your fat gene. Certain food are eaten to target the belly fat, the most damaging kind of fat that leads to a bunch of diseases. Most of my fat is belly fat and it can lead to heart disease. Anyway, the diet is for 12 weeks and comes with a workout that works out the whole body. There is 3 meals a day and a drink and a snack so you are never hungry. The diet takes weight off fast and inches off your waist. It sounds almost too good to be true but the reviews have been from people who have tried it. They say is works. The beginning of the book says that it is not gluten or lactose free per se, but can be tailored that way. They do cut down the gluten and the lactose because even if we aren't diagnosed with having problems with them, we can be sensitive to them. They can be the cause of inflammation to your insides. This diet is supposed to reduce that and increase the health of your digestive system. That is something I need.
Tomorrow I have a meeting with Father Paul at 7am. The Oh-My-Gosh it's early in the morning! I am not sure what we will talk about but I will be telling him that I called and left a message for the woman who runs the Shawl Ministry. I think tomorrow will be the last day we need to meet.

Thursday, February 5, 2015
Today was yucky. It all started before I woke up. Hubby was having tummy troubles and had been up for quite awhile. He was experiencing so much cramping, he called into work and told them he wouldn't be into work until about 5, when the ladies had to leave and he had to close. In the meantime, he was downing Pepto like he owned stock in it. He also spent a lot of time in the tub soaking to ease his cramps.
I am going to have an MRI on my left shin next week, to figure out what the lumps next to the shin bone are that hurt when the dog climbs on my leg or the doctor presses on them. Aanyway, the radiologist called and told me that since they were injecting me with a dye, they needed a blood test to check my kidney functions first. So today I got up and went out to the medical facility to get my blood drawn. Since I went just after I woke up, I didn't eat anything or drink anything. I only had to wait a couple of minutes for the vampires to call me back. When they called me back, she asked me which arm and tried but the vein moved and she couldn't find it. She asked me if I had eaten or drank anything today and I told her no so she said she would try again. She looked all over my right arm and finally tried to take blood from my wrist! That hurt. Then I offered her my left arm, even though taking blood from that side really hurts me. She used a pediatric needle and after the initial stick, she had to move the needle around some but she finally got it. Yeah! Cause otherwise, she would have sent me away to go eat and drink something and then come back and try again. Success!
I next headed to Hobby Lobby to take back the styrofoam balls I bought for the wedding bouquet. I found several YouTube videos on how to make fabric flowers for the bouquet and I don't need to have anything to support them. I took the time to buy some wide lace to wind in between the fabric flowers and the pine cones. I got 4 different kinds of lace and I think it will look really good. Tomorrow I really have to start making it.
See, it is taking me so long to start working on the wedding bouquet for Cassie because as soon as I start, then I have to actually do it, and maybe it won't turn out the way I can picture it in my head. Maybe I won't be able to do it and then Cassie will be disappointed. I would do anything not to disappoint my kid. What if it comes out yucky looking? Then all my planning will have been for naught. What if the creativity in my head can't be translated into reality?
When I got home, I checked on hubby and he was just getting back into the tub, in a sorry state. I called the doctor to see if they could get him in today or tomorrow, but no. They suggested he go into Urgent Care, so I said to him we should go. He decided that this didn't feel that much like his diverticulitis and was probably a reaction to the chicken spaghetti. He had eaten it late at night last night and the night before so is thinking it is from the tomato sauce. So we will see, if tomorrow he is waking up with cramps again, we will go into Urgent Care. If not, then he will be fine and we won't eat spaghetti sauce late in the day anymore.

Today was fabulous day! I started off the morning by getting up and taking hubby into work so I could go to therapy and see Steve, my therapist. I told him all about the email I sent Father Paul, how I rejoined the Catholic Church and feel whole again. At least I think I feel whole. I know that I had an urge to go back to church, a feeling that I needed more God in my life. I want to make more friends and that is also a reason to join the Church. I haven't called on the Prayer Shawl Ministry yet but am going to try to remember to do it tomorrow. It says that they knit and crochet so it sounds like I can do it. I hope they have regular meetings that I can go and meet some new people.
Tomorrow I am going to start weighing myself once a week. I got the scale set up in the kitchen. It's cool - a glass top and digital. Came with the batteries, I just had to pull the paper tab out and it worked! So tomorrow I am going down naked and weighing myself first thing in the morning when I get up. Then I am going to cut up the dresses I bought into strips and making fabric flowers for Cassie's wedding bouquet. I saw some great videos on YouTube under How Do You Make A Floral Bouquet? The good news is I don't need the styrofoam balls to support the fabric flowers next to the pine cones. I think the wire I got should still work and I found some masking tape to use. I also have a hot glue gun and glue sticks. I'm really nervous that it won't come out really nice. I would like to get some laces to use too so when I take the styrofoam balls back, I can use the money to buy lace.
Today I stayed dressed and did take a nap when I got home. I called and straightened out my prescription problem and ordered the meds for hubby. I watched a lot of tv and spent a lot of time on my computer. I really miss having my 10 key area from my computer and my Home and End buttons as this computer doesn't have them.
For dinner tonight I roasted a chicken, all done up with spices, and made mac n cheese and green beans. I only ate a little of the mac n cheese. In fact I only ate a little bit of dinner. For some reason the only thing that tasted good was the wings. I ate a little bit of the breast meat too. I packed the rest of the chicken away to bone tomorrow, and put the juice into some containers. I haven't decided on what to make for tomorrow but I am thinking some sort of casserole. Maybe a ham and potato casserole. Take the au gratin potatoes and add some ham with some peas. That sounds really good! I will bone the chicken and put it aside for the next day. I know hubby wants me to make chicken broth into a thick chicken stock with chicken floating in it for him to make dumplings for dinner. I think I will do that on Saturday so he can make the chicken and dumplings on Sunday.

Today was a home day. I woke up at 930, let the dogs out and went back to bed until 1145am. I had a strange dream about going out into the forest and laying down. Tiny people set up camps around me and built cabins and roads and communities. I never got up again. The trees around me were small and proportional to the tiny people. It was very odd. Sleeping that late tends to make me tired all day but I didn't take a nap.
From mass on Sunday, we know that Ash Wednesday is on the 18th, I just verified on my calendar. For Lent, I am going to give up watching Ellen and Dr Phil, two shows that I watch every day. Maybe I will just give up Dr Phil as Ellen makes me smile and sometimes laugh. Like the time Ellen auctioned off a coffee cup with scotch in it. The woman who bought it agreed to pay $1800 for the coffee cup with Ellen's autograph and the scotch. The woman behind her got a coffee cup for $1700. I forget what charity she was raising money for, may have been for ALS. Anyway, I get mixed feelings watching Dr Phil and giving him up will be a sacrifice. During that hour I will turn off the telly and spend the time reading the bible or reading literature in relation to it or the Catholic Church. Father Paul gave me a book about getting back to the Catholic Church. I started it this afternoon and it was easy reading so far.
When I got up, I got dressed in some leggings and my cat housecoat. I moved downstairs with my computer. I have been leaving my phone plugged in downstairs and I have been sleeping sounder. I feel funny about not being able to get an emergency call from Cassie or my parents but feel like I need to have it out of the bedroom for the time being. I didn't think about my parents might needing to get ahold of me so I will start bringing up with me at night. I would hate the thought that something will happen to my mom or dad and the other one trying to call and having to leave a message.
I spent the day downstairs, reading and on the computer. I did the budget and figured out bills. Verified with my friend, Holly, that she is doing the one day cooking class on February 15 at 2pm. I am hoping it will be done before I have the Forgiveness seminar at Holy Apostles. It is being held Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9pm. I am not sure how we are going to cook for each of us 10 meals and each meal feeds a family of 6. So I figure that will equal to 20 meals for hubby and me. Holly is supposed to be meeting with the Pampered Chef person who does these cook-offs and getting the menu. I know when I looked at it before there was a couple of things that I won't eat, like chicken chili with ground chicken. No. No ground anything.
I made an agreement with hubby that I would cook on the weekdays and he would cook on the weekends and I intend to do that except for today. We have been trying to cook chicken spaghetti since Thursday and I don't know how to make spaghetti sauce like him. So he made the chicken spaghetti tonight. We had gotten some baguettes to go with it. It turned out very good and we have leftovers for another night. Tomorrow I am going to roast another chicken. We will have a salad and some starch.
Cassie called me when she was done with her coaching job at the gymnastics place. She had to go work there part-time at night a couple of nights a week as she is not making enough money at the distillery. They are taking advantage of her by having her service existing customers and only paying her if they order more product. They aren't paying her mileage either. I hope she is keeping good records so she can write it off on her taxes.
Hubby and I came upstairs about 930 and started watching Apprentice UK Series 4. We both have our computers and are watching the telly. It's going to be an early night.

Today was a productive day. I started my day by getting up just after 7, in preparation for my meeting with Father Paul of the Holy Apostles Catholic Church. We were meeting to further my spiritual journey. Since I became a practicing Catholic last week, I have gotten my rosary and what I call my "cheat sheets", the booklets that tell me how to say a rosary. I was looking forward to my meeting with Father Paul because I had several questions to ask him, some about the rosary. Why were we praying to Mother Mary, asking her to pray for us. He explained we prayed to Mother Mary and the Saints to ask them to pray for us, like you would ask your family and friends to pray for you. Like he prayed for me in morning mass, that I would come to find peace and happiness back in the Church. I understood.
Father Paul and I talked about confession. I thought you had to go to confession every week to confess your sins in order to get absolution or forgiveness, then you partake of communion. But Father Paul told me that technically, you only have to go to confession once a year. But people go to confession as their hearts tell them. Some go once a week, some once a month. Some only come when they commit a major sin and need to unburden themselves. Father Paul and I did the confessional in his office. I confessed my sins, got my penance and received my blessing. I left him floating on high. I will see him tomorrow at noon mass, with hubby in tow.
My next stop was an estate sale down the street from my parents. I was on the search for a certain kind of material to be able to use to make fabric flowers for Cassie's bridal bouquet. I hit the jackpot and found two dresses that would serve the purpose. One dress was only 5 dollars as even though it was a formal dress, it had a large stain on the front. The other dress was nice and marked $25, but was half priced. I also found a special ash tray that we used to get in Mexico for only $1!
Since I had to park my car in front of my parents' house and walk down to the estate sale, it was only natural that I stop by and visit for a little bit. I showed my mom my dresses and told her what they were for. I couldn't tell her that Cassie and Drew was planning to get married soon because Cassie made me promise not to tell anyone else yet. So I just had to tell her I was making the bouquets now because I found the pinecones. Just another prep for the wedding. I didn't tell Cassie that I ordered a dress for her, it's black lace but I thought it would look really pretty on her. She probably won't want to wear it for the wedding but I thought of her when I saw the dress and couldn't resist on buying it!
After visiting mom and dad, I went off to Hobby Lobby. I was on the mission of getting the rest of the stuff to make the bouquets. I gathered the styrofoam balls, the floral wire, a couple of more floral bouquets with the rhinestone buttons. Wire cutters, a hot glue gun and additional glue sticks. The price was quite steep but I happily paid.
My last stop of the day was our local grocery store, King Soopers. I had my raincheck for whole chickens for 88 cents a pound and today was the last day it was good. I scored! Not only had they have the chickens in stock, they were now on sale for 79 cents a pound! Chicken is one of the food meats that still tastes good to me so I happily bought up the remaining 13 chickens. 3 of the chickens was for my friend Holly. When I told hubby that I spent $69 on buying chickens, he just shook his head and said "No more buying chickens! We have enough!" Which was true as I had preciously just bought 10 chickens. So now our freezer was full. I feel like I have plenty of meals I can make with the chicken. I have made a good purchase budget-wise.
Though I had risen hours ago, when I arrived home, I found hubby still in bed, having only waken 15 minutes earlier. I was happy to see him get some much needed sleep and he wasn't in pain, like he is so many other times he decides to sleep in. I brought all the chickens inside myself and got them into the freezer.
The rest of the day, hubby and I took it easy and relaxed.

Today was a couple's day. Hubby and I woke up at 10, and at time I announced that I was going to sleep for another 20 minutes. I slept for 7 minutes and then woke up. We laid in bed and chatted, talking about what we were going to do for the day. I took my morning pills and ate breakfast. Then I read for a couple of minutes and got dressed. I got dressed up and so did hubby. I even wore my 2 inch heels.
We got to church early and there was plenty of seating. I chose a nice spot on the pews in the middle. The mass was nice but we had a hard time following it, haven't gotten the routine down yet. This was the first regular mass I have been to since rejoining the Church. I had a hard time understanding when the father was talking about the building fund for the new rectory, the give back fund and something else. So was a little confused when 2 collection baskets when around. We managed to participate through the rest of the service and enjoyed ourselves. Afterwards I went up to the Welcome Table and got some information about the prayer shawl ministry. It says in the pamphlet that they accept knitters and crocheters. I plan on calling the person in charge of it tomorrow to see if they meet as a group and do it together or if everyone is on their own.
We went home to change into clothes more comfortable and warmer as the day started to get chillier. We let the dogs out and then headed over to Costco. We had a small list of things to buy, dog food, chicken base, beef stock and maybe some cereal. We decided to eat a cheap lunch there and it only cost us $5 for both of us to eat and get drinks! We then walked around and looked at tvs, hard drives, blenders, and massage tables. We found a Weight Watcher's Scale for only $20 so we bought it so I can start tracking my weight and start being accountable. I will pick a day once a week to weigh in, just like I did at Weight Watchers. I may weigh myself more but will only record it once a week. This way I can weigh myself the best way, naked!
We bought the dog food, the scale, some greens and romaine lettuce for the birds. And strawberries! Next we headed to the liquor store to pick up some red wine to make the spaghetti sauce for chicken spaghetti tomorrow. We have meaning to make it for the last 3 days but then hubby wanted to take me out to eat, we got tired and ate egg sandwiches and tonight, hubby took a long nap til after 7 so didn't feel up to cooking. We ate cereal.
Yesterday I was so productive! I got all the stuff I needed to make Cassie's bouquet and tomorrow I get to start to put it together. I hope it comes out the way I want it to! In my head I can see it in all it's parts and as a whole. Tomorrow is when I will start putting the elements together and see how they come out. The stem of the bouquet is still a bit of a mystery to me of how to do it but I am contemplating.
