Today was a medium day.  I started off my day by getting up at 845am to get ready to walk the dogs with Rose.  Today was a bit of a test to see if Rose would show up, and she did!  Right at 9am, she ran the doorbell and I was ready for her.  I got the leashes on the dogs and out the door we went.  She took Kira and Cookie and I took Baby.  I had her start out with Baby but Baby was pulling her down the road so I switched.  Cookie and Kira pull some but being smaller dogs, they don't do as badly as Baby does when we first start out walking.  Baby is learning how to walk on a leash and she is getting better.  In the beginning she would walk circles around you and pull this way and that.  But now she is not walking quite so much in circles and after about 8 to 10 minutes, she relaxes into the grove.
We made it down to the park and started to go in but the grass was really wet and the bugs were pretty thick so I decided to skip the park and just head back.  That cut the walk down to 20 minutes.  Tomorrow Rose has a family function so she is not going to walk the dogs.  I set up the next time for Friday at 9am.  She is a teenager and would rather sleep in and go in the afternoon but it just gets too hot to do it later.  Both for me and the dogs.  So she is ok for Friday.  I asked her if she wanted to come in and get some more beads but she just wanted to go home and go back to bed.
I went in and got a big glass of iced tea and went upstairs to see hubby.  He had a doctor's appointment at 1030 and I was going in with him.  The plan was he was going to drop me off at the zoo after the doctor's appointment so I wouldn't have to try and find parking.  Then he would pick me up on his lunch hour when I got done at 4pm.
Hubby didn't want to go to the doctor's.  It was an appointment to see about getting the bump removed from his eyelid.  He had gotten a couple of other bumps on his face too but we weren't there to see about those.  We wanted to know if the bump on his eye was something that was bad.  Dr Pelton was very nice and looked at hubby.  He said the bump on his eyelid was the same as the bumps on his face and they were benign.  To remove it was simple and only required him using this lazer like pen to melt the stuff that was the bump.  The whole visit and removal would be $83.  Well, we are short money this month but it was important to hubby to get this removed so we said yes.  The whole procedure took only a couple of minutes.
The bad news we got from Dr Pelton was that a spot that hubby had on his arm was a Basal Cell Carcinoma, skin cancer.  Hubby has an appointment with our regular doctor July 20th but tomorrow I am going to call the office and see if they can't get him in sooner.  Hubby is a little freaked out that he has skin cancer.  Dr Pelton assured us that he won't die from it but we do want it to get taken care of soon.
Then hubby took me up to the Zoo.  It was a nice sunny day, a little warm so I was wearing my tan shorts and my Docent t-shirt.  I still had on my ankle sleeve for my sprained ankle but I was walking just fine this morning.  I'm not going to stop wearing the ankle sleeve for awhile, until after I see the doctor next week.  And probably for a week or two after that, just for the extra support.
The shift at the Zoo went well.  We held the joey and a blue tongue skink, at different times, of course.  It started to rain about 20 minutes before we were done.  So Thea, the head keeper, came and got the joey, whose name is Fiona, about 5 minutes early.  I tried to call hubby but his phone was off so I just kept trying.  I walked down to the front of the Zoo and waited for him.  I caught him just as he was getting ready to drive up to the Australian exhibit to pick me up.  I surprised him by jumping into the car just as he was waiting for the gate to open!
He had had a stressful day, getting used to working for a new guy.  The school is going through budget crisis and they might have to get rid of a person in his department.  That stresses hubby out.  And the guy that hubby is working for has all this extra work he wants hubby to do and hubby is trying to figure out when he can do it since he is so stretched as it is.  But he vented to me on the way home and felt much better by the time we got home.  He packed up some food to eat later since he has to work until 915pm, kissed me and left.
I spent the rest of the day and evening in the craft room.  For a while I had the rattie boys in the bathroom with me running around.  Tonight they got chicken, pasta and tomatoes.  Plus their rattie food.  The boys are getting much more comfortable with me and spent some time exploring the bathroom and me.  I had a good time petting them and feeding them little tidbits.
