Today was a walking day.  I am still watching the neighbor's dogs, Deisel and Kodak so I got up at 730 and went over, did my thing, then came back home but did not go back to sleep!  I stayed awake and watched several episodes of Saving Grace on Netflix.  I felt energized!
Hubby came home for lunch and I cut his hair.  He also shaved off his beard then jumped in the shower.  Today was a warm day so he felt so refreshed when he went back to work.
When he came home, we walked Deisel and Kodak.  I spent a little more time with them while hubby made a dinner of steak, twice baked potatoes and french cut green beans.  Afterwards we had root beer floats.

Wednesday, April 29, 2015

Today was a depressed day.  I am still watching the neighbor's dogs, Deisel and Kodak, so I was up at 730am and went over to their house.  I fed the squirrels and birds but I will have to wash out the water bowls for them.   I haven't been filling the bowls, just letting them sit and they are crudy so tomorrow I am going to start taking them in one at a time and washing them out and filling them up.  I did find out that I have to go over at 5 to clean up the dog poop as at 630, the sun is shining at an angle that makes it hard to see.  And just as I was clean up the last of the poop, Deisel decides to add a little more.  Since it was so fresh and a little runny, I decided to let it sit until tomorrow.
When I came home I tried to go back to sleep but it was on and off.  My face felt so congested but my nose was still runny.  When I went to sleep last night I couldn't breath out of my nose at all so I apologized to hubby in advance because I was going to be snoring last night.  And in fact, he said he didn't sleep very good last night so I figured I had a lot to do with that.  As much as I was congested, my nose was still runny and I kept having to blow it, or face having snot run down my face.
I finally got up and watched some Saving Grace on Netflix, still in my jammies.  I stayed in my jammies until 4pm when hubby called and said he was going to Panda Express to pick up food for us.  That was my clue to jump into the shower.  While I was in the shower, hubby came home and brought the food.  He had to work until 10 tonight so this was our main meal of the day.
I felt depressed all today.  I forgot to take my morning medication so I started to get weepy and teary.  That makes me think if I took my pills that morning and the answer today was no.  So I took them at 4pm but that leaves me still depressed.  It takes a day to get back into feeling good again.  I did take Deisel and Kodak for a walk by myself today and it felt good.  My feet didn't hurt this time but my legs did.  It's always something.
After I fed and watered the dogs, I spent a little time with them.  Deisel has me worried because he isn't eating much so I am feeding him canned food.  I left the rest of the food for him to eat or Kodak to eat.  Tomorrow I will start feeding him half a can of dog food and half the amount dry food to see if he will eat all of it.  The owners haven't called me back again so I am not going to contact them.  He is still eating some, still getting excited about walking and still moving around so I'm not too worried.  I will just adjust his food to make sure he is eating every meal, once in the morning and once in the evening.  In the evening, I will take the rest of the food and bring it back with me to throw it out.  Maybe he doesn't like the new food that much.  Just before they left, the owners had switched the dry dog food.  They went through a whole bag of it but maybe he has decided he doesn't like it.  I gave him over half a can of wet dog food and he ate most of that.  What he didn't eat was the little bit of canned food that was in around the dry food.  I know my dogs will actually spit out the dry food while eating the canned food, silly dogs!
Tomorrow I am going to get my jello molds out of the trunk of the car and hang them in the kitchen.  Even if I can't paint right now, I should start making the house more of a home.  I know I really need to vacuum as I know all the pet hair is not helping me with this congestion and runny nose.
I will have to make an effort to take my pills when I come home from taking care of Deisel and Kodak in the morning.  And I will have to stay up when I get back then just take a nap later in the day if I am tired.  Tomorrow in Inventory for hubby so he will have to go in at 9am and work until 6pm or later.  He has been trying to get about 4 hours of overtime in each week so we can keep his paycheck up over $1000.  It really helps us and with us having to start paying taxes we own, $3200 for federal and $1250 to Colorado State.  So after this month, we will be on a tight budget.  We will have 2 payday loans to start paying off.  This month, May, we will be taking out two more payday loans to pay off these payday loans, floating them until next month when we will start paying them off.  We have the wedding, Cassie and Drew's wedding, to attend and the mini-honeymoon.  Tomorrow when we get paid, I will reserve the room and get the visa gift card with the $250 or $200 for the food. while they are staying there.  My cousin, Coleen, sent me a check for $50 towards the mini-honeymoon and Aunt Gale said she is sending a check too.  I have to message her and let her know I haven't gotten anything from her yet in case she sent it and it didn't arrive.  I also have to talk to my parents, they are giving us $100 towards the mini-honeymoon.
In addition to the mini-honeymoon, I have a blender with a travel cup, a set of books from my favorite website on frugality and organization, the bonus material that came with ordering the set of the books that hubby printed out and is putting in a 3 ring binder, and something I have had for the past three year, just waiting for Cassie to get married, a brand new family bible in a leather cover with pages to track parents, births, deaths and marriages.  Cassie isn't religious but I think she will like all the presents.
Cass also brought me yarn to make her soon to be mother in law two cowl scarves but there isn't enough yarn to make both.  Each of the skeins will have to be supplemented with another set of yarn.  I am working on a prayer shawl for my church.  I have missed both meeting this month so I will definately be there next month.

Tuesday, April 28, 2015

Today was a donut day.  Still feeding and taking care of the neighbor's dogs, Deisel and Kodak.  I wish I could have spent more time with them this morning but had to come home and get ready to take hubby to work.  I needed the car so I could do two things this morning, meet my friend, Holly, at Dunkin Donuts and later, go over to Judy's house to finish giving her prices for her crystal things that used to belong to her mom.
So I got hubby dropped off and got over to Dunkin Donuts with plenty of time in order to meet Holly.  I got there just after 9 and we weren't due to meet until 930am.  So I set my alarm on my phone and kicked back to meditate for 20 minutes.  My nose has been running non-stop and I find if I meditate, kick back and relax, I can get my nose to stop running so much.  It worked, I barely had to blow my nose in the store.
When Holly got there, we each bought a donut, I got an apple fritter and she got something for her and Abbey.  I got a large mint hot chocolate and she got a latte.  I got a cranberry juice and she got an oj for Abbey.  We caught up on what was going on with her car that a lady hit the back of when she was stopped.  The shop told her it would be 5 to 7 days to get it repaired but after they got the parts in yesterday, they took the car apart today and found out there was additional damage and had to get permission from the insurance company to repair it.  It is very close to being totaled.  Holly is really happy that she doesn't have to replace her car, yet.
While I was talking to Holly, I was getting sleepy  so when we wrapped up our visit, I had finished crocheting my color on my prayer shawl, I went home and laid down for a nap.  I woke up cold and decided I could nap a little longer, so I crawled under the covers.
I woke up around 1 and went over to Judy's to finish pricing some crystal pieces that I had researched at home.  I told her I was just guessing on a few of them, one I couldn't find anything like it on the internet, so I was giving it a higher price based on the collection itself.  She paid me in jello molds that I do not have in my collection.  They are older ones and will look nice on my walls in my kitchen.  I am hoping the rest of my jello molds are still somewhere on a shelf in the garage.  I have vintage molds from my mom, when she had a collection.  I bought them from her because whenever we would move, we knew we were home when mom put up the jello molds in the kitchen.  I am hoping I still have them but you never know as I don't know when was the last time that I had seen them.
After I was done at Judy's, I went and traded the car with hubby.  He was happy to take me home, make me half a sandwich and eat half a sandwich himself.  Then he went back to work for a couple of hours.  I went upstairs, laid down for a little while longer then got up to watch Dr Phil.  It was an intervention for a "Real Housewives" housewife so I got on YouTube and did a search for the Dr Phil episode they had this month about catfishing.  It had to do with 7 young college women who all used social media to contact a guy name Hyrem.  They all were Mormon and so they had found out about one another, him telling each one of them that he loved them.  But not a one had ever met him, they had talked over the phone but he always put them off.
Turns out that the guy, Hyrem, is a stolen identity.  They guy they all knew from the pictures is not the guy they had been communicating with, and this wasn't news to the girls, all this had come out previously.  In fact, the ladies were going to meet the real guy, behind all this.  Turns out it wasn't a guy at all but a Mormon woman who was exploring her gay sexuality by stealing an identity and creating fake profiles on facebook.  Some of the women had restraining orders against this woman and had gone as far as reporting her to her Mormon bishop, the church to let them know what she had done.
I waited for hubby to come home and then we took the neighbor's dogs out for a walk.  Hubby says I walking faster and doing better with walking.  My feet still hurt when I walk but I am able to get around better.  When I see my doctor I am going to let her know about my feet problems since I have diabetes and foot problems are not good.  At first, a couple of my toes would go numb when I walk but that has gone away.  Now I just get aching feelings.  Hubby and I are determined to keep walking with our dogs when the neighbors come back on Saturday, late at night.  So I get to sleep in on Sunday, yeah!
Hubby made am a salad for dinner, I had to share a little with my puppies.  Hubby fell asleep early but then woke up around 1030pm and we watched The Closer.  I love this man of mine.

Monday, April 27, 2015

Today was a rainy day.  This morning I started out waking up just before the phone alarm went off to take care of the dogs.  After I was done feeding and watering the neighbor's pups, I came back home and went back to sleep.  Cassie woke me up just before she left.
I loved that Cassie came down and stayed until today.  It was fun helping her shop for beads and glue to make her wedding ear plugs.  She is up to an inch!  We found the plugs on sale at Hot Topic, buy one for regular price ($14.50) and get the other for only $5.  Since plugs are normally around $20, she got 2 pairs.  Both plastic but with the glue we got, E-6000, it seemed to stick really well.
Today was raining on and off so I wasn't able to take the dogs for a walk.  Hubby did stop and pick up a cherry pepsi for me on his way home, then brought it over to me while I was at the neighbor's.  That was so sweet of him!

Saturday, April 25, 2015

Today was a great day!  I started with once again getting up to feed and water the neighbor's dogs.  I made it back and went back to sleep until it was time to get up, get ready to go meet hubby's cousins at their new house.  His cousin, Clay, and his wife, Lisa, just bought a house in Monument a couple of months ago.  They moved up from Florida as Clay got a new job and gets to work out of the house for the most part.  Clay's dad, Uncle Bill, lives here in Colorado Springs, his brothers and cousins live here too.  Lisa suggested a family bbq to celebrate Uncle Bill's birthday.  Clay's oldest son, Clay Jr, lives in Fort Morgan, where my cousin Coleen lives.  His fiance, Nancy, and their baby, Haley, came up for the birthday party.  Clay Jr was running late so we didn't get to meet him.  But we invited Clay and Lisa and their kids, Claire and Lacy, to Cassie's wedding and they invited us to Clay and Nancy's wedding.
The bbq was lots of fun.  We met some people that hubby and Clay grew up with, met the kids and had some good conversations.  We left after a couple of hours to get home in time to walk the dogs and be there when Cassie arrive since she was coming home for a couple of days.  She has an event she is doing for the distillery, down in Old Colorado City.  She is giving out samples of the alcohol her distillery makes to generate business.  I'm going to see if we can go and see her in action.  But more than likely it is a business event and we won't be able to go.  Tomorrow I am going to get up at 730am, go take care of the dogs next door then when I come home, I will wake her up and we are going shopping to buy some ear plugs, the one inch kind that you stretch out your earlobes and insert, then we are going to Micheal's to buy some beads and glue to decorate them for her wedding.  Then when she leaves for the event, I'm going to take a nap.
When she gets home from the event, we are going over to my parents' place so she can see their new house.  She is going to get to see all the work they have done and everything they are planning.
Tonight hubby made fried chicken using a new fried chicken flour with 10 different spices that he picked up at the grocery store with corn on the cob and baked bean, so yummy.  Then Cassie and I went upstairs to watch tv, draw on her back, and cuddle.  I miss my little girl and am so happy that she is visiting.  She misses the love of her life, Drew, but Drew had to work tonight at the restaurant so couldn't come down.  He will be off tomorrow but I don't think he is coming down.  She is here through Monday.

Friday, April 24, 2015

Today was a birthday day!  My sister's birthday, youngest of the family, and she is 45 today.  This is the sister that has 11 kids and now is a single mom.  She has 2 kids out on their own, one kid that disowned her, and 8 kids at home.  I called her but got her voicemail so I sung happy birthday to her and then I left her a message on facebook singing happy birthday to her.  My daughter, Cassie, also left a video of herself singing happy birthday to her.  In fact, that's what prompted me to leave the messages right then and there before I forgot again.
I got up this morning and went next door, fed the animals and opened the curtains (yeah, I remembered this time!), watered the dogs and put the food and seed out for the birds and squirrels.  I hurried back home because I was supposed to go to the zoo for a storytelling workshop.  But when I got home, I laid back down for a few minutes and then hubby decided to call off of work, so I decided not to go to the workshop either.  I was really nervous to go to the workshop because I didn't do the homework they wanted us to do and I was afraid they would throw me out, so it was an easy decision to not go.  I am such a coward.
Since I stayed home with hubby, I got to sleep until 1130.  I don't know what it is about getting up at 730, doing about half and hour to 45 minutes worth of work then going back to sleep to make me sleep so late.  And sleep so heavy!  Anyway, the only thing I still needed to do was go over to a woman named Judy's house and help her price some crystal pieces.
I spent about 2 hours at Judy's, searching the internet, ebay mostly, looking for different pieces of vintage crystal.  The prices were varied from $60, $30, $45 and such.  I am not that familiar with crystal but can do pretty good searches online of things so I offered my services.  I'm not making any money on doing this but will take some jello molds out in trade.  There were some pieces that I didn't know what to call them and my phone was losing power so I took some pictures and will research them at home.
Hubby and I took the dogs out for a walk tonight, making all around down the street before my feet and back started hurting and luckily we were close to home.  The dogs are senior and one of them is having some pain, he loves to walk but the shorter walks we take are better than a long one for him like the owners do.  At least that is the way it seems as he is climbing carefully when he gets up on the couch.  Hubby did all the beasties, fed and watered them so I had extra time to spend with Kodak and Deisel.
We finished up the night with a Jack Lemon film, Avanti.  Neither of us have seen it before.

Thursday, April 23, 2015

Today was a sleeping day.  I made it up at 730am and went next door, still half asleep.  I fed the squirrels and birds, fed and watered the dogs, then came home and went back to sleep.  I forgot to open the curtains.  Oh well, tomorrow I will be better.  Tomorrow I will not be able to go back to sleep, I have to drop hubby off at work and drive to the Zoo.  I have storytelling workshop to attend to better learn how to take facts and make them more interesting by turning them into a story for the public.
We had an assignment to send 3 statements into the guy conducting the workshop by a certain date and I got the email but put it off until it was too late.  So I got a notebook and wrote down 3 statements with notes to take to the workshop to develop into a story.  Most of them are stories that I took from the website or the newsletter but they are just what I could think of today.  We will see.  I have to remember to take a lunch with me.
I will have to walk up a big hill to get to the workshop so I am going to park in the lot and walk in the front.  Then I have to walk up to Moose Lodge.  But I am not going to park on the volunteer hill parking lot because it will take me forever to walk up there when the workshop is done.  We aren't supposed to do this but it is still spring and a weekday so we shouldn't be really busy.
When I came back and went back to bed, I slept until hubby called and woke me up at 1240pm.  He called to brag that he finally had gone through with the threat to mail poop to somebody.  Seriously, he had to mail in a fecal sample to the lab from the doctor's visit about his bleeding out of his rectum.  It's not something he likes to talk about and the joking just makes this easier to deal with.  Until he gets the colonoscopy, we still have the colon cancer scare over our heads.  People, pay attention to your bowels!  Know about what your feces and urine look like and pay attention to changes.
I spent the rest of the day until it was time to go back next door watching tv and eating lunch with hubby.
The good news is when I went back to the neighbor's dogs, it was raining.  Raining is good cause we need the moisture, but bad cause then I couldn't walk the dogs.  And I did get dressed and put on my sneakers, looking forward to walking today.  But the dogs were friendlier and more relaxed tonight.  They hung out in the same room as me, I got both dogs to eat in the kitchen, and in the later part of the evening, they both got on the couch and fell asleep.  They were so relaxed, when hubby called and said he was on the way home, I told him I was staying with the dogs a little longer to bond some more.  It was nice.  They let me give them good scratches as I was leaving.  The owner called while I was over there so I took some pics of the dogs on the couch and texted them to her.   I didn't get a message back.  Maybe she didn't get it.

Tuesday, April 21, 2015

Today was an association day.  I started my day getting up at 730am, going across the street to feed and water the dogs, feed the birds and squirrels.  At least I think I fed the birds and squirrels, I will have to count the empty bags tomorrow morning to see if I forgot to do it.  I was in a bit of a hurry as I needed to get back to my house and take a shower in order to take hubby to work so I could have the car.  I had therapy at 10am and hubby was supposed to be at work by 9.  But we were running a little late so didn't get hubby dropped off until just after 930 and then I got back to my therapy session a couple of minutes before 10.  Yeah!
Steve, my therapist, and I talked about Cassie's wedding, the plans she has made, the wedding planner and where she has the wedding set up for now.  How hubby is doing the invitations and I offered to address all of them and send them out for her, if she has time to get me the addresses.  We talked about how that even now sometimes I still feel like I am in competition with Cassie's dad and sometimes in competition with her soon to be mother in law.  Sometimes I am jealous that Cassie is so close with Becky, they live in the same house and Cassie loves her.  I wish Cassie and I could have a close relationship like that but then Steve and I talked about how Cassie and I talk quite often and she has listened to me and taken some of my advice.  Cassie and I are closer than we have ever been.  As for feeling like I am in competition with other parts of Cassie's life, that simply is not true.  Cassie has enough room in her heart for all of us.
After I was done with therapy, I headed home because I left my phone there and needed it for later in the day to call hubby later and let him know when I was going to change the car with him.  Then I ate lunch and went over to Judithmary's.
Judithmary is my Red Hat Queen and I made arrangements to go over to her house.  She wanted to get my opinion on some things, learn a little more about me.  And she wanted to show me the Red Hat dolls she had made.  She had also bid and won several dolls on eBay, but was disappointed in one that was supposed to be a grandma doll and it turned out to be a grandpa doll.  So Judithmary found this doll maker, Sue, who had a company called A Doll Affair that she ran out of her house and invited me to come along.  We took a couple of the disappointing dolls with us to see what Sue could do to make them better.
We had a nice visit with Sue, saw some of the dolls she had made and she inspected the dolls Judithmary had and said she would be able to get some parts, feet for her dolls and a new body for the grandpa doll to make a grandma doll.  She would be able to get Judithmary information on a wig for it too.
I exchanged the car with hubby and he dropped me off at home then returned to work.  I sat with the dogs for a little while then went to take the neighbor's dogs on a walk and feed them dinner.  I spent a couple of hours with them, they are relaxing nicely now and getting used to me.  I took them for a walk by myself and we walked for about 25 minutes.  This makes the 3rd day in a row that I have been walking and it feels good.  Tiring, exhausting but good.

Monday, April 20, 2015

Today was a fun day.  I started as I have since Saturday, getting up at 730am and going next door to feed and water the neighbors' dogs.  Then I came home and watched a little tv while hubby got up and drove the UHaul truck back into work.  He was going to have the work studies unload it and have me meet him at UHaul at 1145am.  So I set the alarm on my phone and went back to sleep.
At 1115am, hubby calls me and asks if I am going to meet him at UHaul and I thank him for waking me up as my phone alarm, as I found out, was not set correctly and I missed my time to get up.  I hurriedly got dressed and left.  I drove to UHaul and waited for hubby.
Hubby got the truck checked back in and joined me in the car.  He had an important doctor's appointment coming up in an hour and a half so we went to Sheldon's Luncheonette for lunch, it was on our way.  When we stopped at the luncheonette, hubby and I decided to sit at the counter and have the special, a couple of open faced roast beef sandwiches with a side of mashed potatoes smothered in brown gravy.  I ate about a forth of my sandwich and mashed potatoes and brought the rest of it home for tomorrow.
We arrived at the doctor's office and checked in.  About 10 minutes later they called us back.  See, hubby has been passing blood when he poops, not all the time but now it happens a lot.  A bright red blood that might be from hemorrhoids but he had no hemorrhoids that were hanging out so since this has been going on for a couple of months now, he was getting kind of worried.  His guts were hurting and all-in-all, it just wasn't looking good so it was time to get it checked out.  The doctor came in and talked with him for a few minutes, then told him he would need a colonoscopy, a set of labs and a rectal exam.  That was my cue to step out.
The good news is the doctor did find that hubby has internal hemorrhoids but couldn't identify the source of the bleeding.  And, especially with people over 50, anytime there is an extended period of time of bleeding, it is better to be safer than sorry and completely check everything out.  So we went downstairs to the lab, got his blood drawn, picked up his stool sample pack to mail back in, then left.
Hubby was a little freaked about the whole experience and the possibility about the whole thing possibly being colon cancer.  Symptoms of colon cancer are bleeding from the rectum, pain in the gut, sore rectum and pencil thing poop.  Now hubby doesn't have the pencil poop but he does have the rest of it so we are a little worried.  He did have a colonoscopy 5 years ago so if he does have colon cancer, hopefully this is an early diagnosis.
To take his mind off of this, we went to the library.  I wanted to join the Friend of the Library and then check out some more books.  First we had to pay our fine, over $40!  Boy, we really screwed up!  Anyway, we paid it off and went to town checking out a bunch more.  We used to go to the library every Sunday and I miss that.  So we are going to start going again.
When we got home, we had a little down time before I went over to the neighbors for the dogs.  I did everything and then called hubby to meet me outside and we took the dogs for a walk.  We got a good 25 minute walk in.  The dogs are settling down and all is going well.
We ended the night by watching a VHS tape we recently picked up called What's Up, Doc? with Barbara Straighsand.

Saturday, April 18, 2015

Today was a sitting day.  Pet sitting that is!  Today was the first day of my watching my neighbor's house and dogs.  I go over at 730am and check on the dogs, feed and water them, give them doggie cookies, put out the bird seed and squirrel food and clean up dog poop.  I sit in the house for a little while and reward the puppies when they come in the same room as me, and then open the curtains and leave.
Then about 5pm, I go back over to the house, sit in the living room and watch tv, throwing pieces of dog biscuits to the fellows when they come into the room.  They are a little freaked out because I've never been there when the home owners haven't been there before.  This morning, at 430am, my neighbors left so I just started this job for them.  I'm supposed to be walking the dogs too, but that is a little hard when you can't get the dogs to come into the room with you.  So I went over at 5pm, turned on the tv, they have cable, and settled in to watch HGTV.  House Hunters and Property Brothers.  Whenever Kodak would come into the room, I wouldn't look at him, just throw him a piece of doggie biscuit.  He came in the room 4 times.  I laid out my arm without looking at him and he came up to me and sniffed me.  Tomorrow, if the weather is nice, I will see about taking him for a walk, if he will let me get close enough to put the collar and leash on him.
When I come over in the evening, I settle in to socialize with the dogs, then I feed them.  I'm supposed to watch them eat, entice Deisel to eat with some canned food if he won't but that requires Deisel to come out of hiding.  First I need to find out where he is hiding.  Then I need to reward him, feed him until he comes out to me.  I need to pick up poop, pull in the mail,  Then I need to feed the feral and neighborhood cats.  I put out a can of wet cat food, some shredded cheddar cheese, dry cat food, two hotdogs that I tear into small pieces and catnip to put on the steps.  Tonight it was raining so no catnip for the kitties.  But I did forget to bring in the mail so I will do that in the morning.  I also forgot to open the curtains this morning so will remember to do that in the morning.   Tomorrow they get the paper so I have box to put that in, too.
Hubby had to leave about 630 this morning but the dogs had him up at 430 and 530, so he just stayed up and left around 6, planning to get breakfast at the hotel in Denver when he got there early.  Today was the last day of the Doctorate Symposium.  When he got home, he said they sold well, he made good money both Thursday and Saturday.  The truck will stay with us until he goes back to work on Monday and the work studies can unload it.
Tomorrow hubby and I have mass, then we have to go to the mall so I can get my wedding ring inspected and cleaned.  Then we will be back at home for the day.

Friday, April 17, 2015

Today was a movie day.  Yesterday was a nasty weather day.  It was cold and snowy most of the day, so I called the lady I was supposed to go over to see and help her price her mother's crystal, and I cancelled going over to her house for today since the weather was supposed to be awful again today.  I left my time of going over to Judithmary's later until today to see how the roads will be.  Well, I decided to sleep in, waking up early at 8 or 9am, but then talked myself into going back to sleep until 1130a,.  When I was awake, I looked outside and it was beautiful weather, but the roads still looked snowy and icy.  I let it go and called Judithmary, seeing if still wanted me to come over.  She said that it was too cold out to do the flowers like she wanted and we will meet next week.
Since I no longer had obligations for the day, I talked to hubby and we decided to go see a movie.  There is a new movie that just came out, Disney's Monkey Kingdom.  It's about a troop of monkeys and one in particular.  A young female monkey that is the lowest of the class of monkeys.  She gets to eat last, what the others don't want.  She is lowest on the totem pole and when the monkeys eat in the fig tree, she only gets to eat what lands on the ground.\
In the movie, the young female knows her place in the troop and is resigned to the fate.  But along comes this young male stud and he entices her away from the troop for a little while.  Then the young male stud tries to fight the head of the troop and is driven away.  6 months later, the young female has a baby boy from the young stud.
Anyhow, the story goes on and there is a great storytelling narrative about how she struggles to survive and support her son.  There is downs and ups, war and human interaction.  In the end, she and the young stud, who came back a year later and takes over the troop, are a happy couple and she is in the higher ranking monkeys now.
After the movie, hubby and I stopped at the store and picked up some chicken to make chicken strips for dinner with honey mustard dipping sauce.  Yum.  And after dinner, hubby and I decided to watch Star Trek: First Contact on VHS.  And since hubby had to take the UHaul truck and go back to Denver at 630am, it will be an early night.

Thursday, April 16, 2015

Today was a sick day.  My day started off at 2am, a little less than an hour after I fell asleep, I was woken up with intestinal distress.  I had terrible gut cramps.  I spent about an hour in the bathroom.  When I was done, I was weak and my tummy hurt.  I managed to get back to sleep until the alarm went off for hubby to get up.  He had to get up early to drive a UHaul truck to Denver for work.  See, he had to set up a shop for all the students that came out for the Doctorate Symposium.  He had to work until 4pm.
I got up and fed the animals, my beasties, and then grabbed a bottle of sparkling, flavored water, Peach, my favorite.  I headed back to bed.  I spent the day dozing on and off, drinking my water and fighting a fever.  I talked to my mom and hubby called me a few times to check on me.
Hubby got home and made me cream of chicken soup and brought me another drink.  He felt my forehead and said I did have a fever, then sent me back to bed.  And that is where I sent the rest of the night.

Today was a Zoo day.  See, I was supposed to get up early and take hubby to work so I could go volunteer at the Zoo first thing in the morning but since hubby kept me up to 230am, I was just too tired and unmotivated to get dressed and go in first thing.  So I woke up with hubby and told him to take the car but come back at 12 noon and I would be ready then.
So I watched the one season of the show Surface on Netflix.  Cool show about an alien, invasive species and some people that interact with it.  There was 15 episode and it ended on a cliff hanger, the show got cancelled before the second season started.  The last episode, episode 15, ends with a tidal wave taking out and flooding North Carolina, I think.  Our 3 main characters all end up together and get saved, yeah!  But this invasive species moves into the newly formed waterways.  The new species caused the shifting that caused the tidal waves.  It was a good show and I wish they hadn't cancelled it.
At noon, hubby called and told me he was on his way home so I got up and got dressed in my Zoo uniform, green polo with monogram and name tag and tan pants.  And my new sneakers with the florescent yellow/green tongue and laces.  When he got home, I was ready and we left.
We stopped at Jack in the Box for tacos, then to Kum and Go for soda and gas, next to drop hubby off at the school so I could take the car and go onward to the Zoo.  I arrived at the Zoo and parked in the lot.  It was 130pm and there was plenty of spaces available so I stayed in the lot.  I read my book for a little bit.  About 2, I got out of the car and walked up the hill to Primate World and took out the Gorilla Skull from the biofacts cart.  I decided to sit out in front of the outside enclosure of the gorilla and talk to the kids as they came around.
I stayed there for 3 hours and just as I was getting wrapped up, hubby called and said he was ready for me to pick him up so he could come home, cook dinner, relax for a short time then come back to work.  So that is what we did.  And hubby worked until 130am.  I waited for him before going to sleep.

Monday, April 13, 2015

Today was a lax day.  Today was a day to stay home, stay under the covers and do nothing.  After all the nice weather we have been having, today was chilly.  Hubby and I were supposed to go for a walk but when he got home, we ate dinner and he had to go back to work to finish up a printing project.
So today was a loss.  A nothing day.  A total waste of space.  My mind was pudding all day long.

Saturday, April 11, 2015

Today was a good day.  Hubby had to work today and be at work at 830 so I woke up briefly to say god bye and that I would feed the dogs later.  He fed the rest of the beasties and left.  I slept until 10 then got up.  I grabbed a piece of pizza for breakfast, a take and bake from Papa Murphy's with bell pepper, black olives and pineapple.  That's my favorite!
I spent the rest of the time until hubby got off at 1 watching Medium, I was so close to watching the end of the series.   I fed the dogs, Cookie and Kira get plain yogurt on theirs, Baby likes her's plain.  I think the yogurt helps Kira's digestive track and she doesn't get the runs as much.  Our neighbor gave us a bag of weightloss dry dog food so I am feeding that to the dogs in the morning and regular dog food in the evening.  Feeding the dogs the yogurt in the morning gets them to eat breakfast at once and I don't have Kira eating all the dry dog food.  If one of them doesn't eat, I will take that one up and throw it out.  Maybe I can get the dogs to eat a little less and start losing some weight.
My fellow Red Hatter, Lori, died the other day and so today when hubby came home, we made a hearty chicken casserole and took it over to her family.   It wasn't until her daughter came to the door that I started to get tears in my eyes and started to cry.  It just hit me then that Lori had died.  Hubby was very supportive.
We stopped at a garage sale on the way home and I got some little golden books for Li An and Shay Li.  Hubby got some dvd movies.
And right after we got home and went to the bathroom and got my carmax for my chapped lips, hubby and I went out and took a walk, just the two of us.  I wanted to take the dogs but hubby didn't want to, he wants us to just start walking with the two of us for awhile, so since I need the exercise, I agreed.  I have a spot on my back that started acting up while we were walking so we didn't go very far but we did walk for about 20 minutes.  This time my shoes were good.

Friday, April 10, 2015

Today was an errand day.  Hubby has to work on Saturday so he had today off.  So we slept until we woke up.  I got a call at 930am but sent it to voice mail and went back to sleep.  Hubby woke up half and hour later, and I woke up half an hour after that.
Hubby and I talked and decided what errands we needed to do today.  Highest priority is getting two payday loans to pay off two other payday loans.  We are skating them until we can afford to start paying them off in June.  The wedding is the most important thing we have to pay for right now.  Pay day loans are an evil until themselves but came in handy when we needed.
We fed the beasties and headed out of the house.  We ran into a guy named John, who we found out bought the house next door to us.  He is a house flipper and thought the previous owner's son moved in and fixed it up pretty good, it is still outdated in some areas and John is teaching his boys how to work on houses, so it will be a good long while before we get new neighbors.  Bummer as I was looking forward to getting to know a new neighbor.
So our first two stops of the day were the pay day loan places getting new loans.  These are places where hubby has done lots of business so it didn't take us long.  Afterward, hubby took me to La Baugette for lunch.  See, every once in a while I get a craving for their La Vegetarian sandwich, a slew of veggies including avocado on a freshly baked crescent roll with a balsamic glaze.  And just the other day I had told hubby that when we got paid again, I wanted to go, so he took me there today.  Yum!
After a wonderful lunch where I could only eat half of my sandwich, the other half I will eat tomorrow for lunch, we headed over to The Mill Outlet, a fabric store.  I had talked to Cassie, my daughter, and gotten her new wedding colors, cream, amethyst, and turquoise.  So I need to get stiff fabric to make the fabric flowers to put the broaches on to make the wedding bouquet.  The pictures Cassie sent me of the bouquets that she wanted are pretty squashed together broaches, lots of them, and your don't really see the fabric flowers under there.  I told Cassie I would do the best I could and send her a picture of it once it is done.  So I found the fabric to match the colors as close as I could, the cream and turquoise were a stiff fabric at $14.76 a yard.  I got 20% off the cream because it had a wonky hem.  The amethyst was a nylon that was pretty thing was only $6.46 a yard.  All together the total was just a few pennies under $77.  Surprised the heck out of me!  This is turning out to be a very expensive wedding bouquet.  I am hoping to get a couple of bouquets out of this.  One of Cassie and maybe a couple of bridesmaid's ones.
We dropped by the drug store to drop off a prescription and pick one up then headed for home.  When we turned down our street, I saw a sign for an estate sale so we stopped by.  I found an original Hagen-Renaker Boston Terrier Pup vintage miniature and a Royal Heritage Koala Bear figurines.  I paid the lady $2 for them, knowing that they were worth more.  When I got home, I did some research on the website and found out both are vintage pieces.  The Boston Terrier Pup is in great shape and is still on the original paper so is worth about $10 - $12.  The Koala doesn't have a certificate of authenticity but it does have the stamp so is worth about $9.50 - $12.  Tomorrow I want to take pictures of them and put them up on either Etsy or eBay.
Hubby had to go back out and go grocery shopping so when he did, he got a lot.  I asked him to get everything to make 2 hearty chicken casseroles, one for us and one for the family of my fellow Red Hatter, Lori, who passed away a couple of days ago.  We are going to take it over to her house tomorrow.  Lori's memorial service is Wednesday and the Red Hatter's are getting together at 10am in our outfits and going in group.  There is a reception afterwards.
Hubby and I ended our day by watching a couple of episodes of Netflix's series Z Nation, about the zombie apocalypse.  Fun!

Thursday, April 10, 2015

Today was a quiet day.  Since I didn't have any plans for today, I slept until I woke up.  That was before the alarm that hubby set for 1030 this morning.  He had to be at work at 1130 but I got to laz around and watch tv.  I watched some more of Medium and then later watched Dr Phil.  I found the best way to watch Dr Phil is to do something else at the same time.  Know I have said that before but it's true.
Hubby had to work 1130am to 9pm but called me at 8 and told me he would be late.  He had a couple of production projects he needed to finish before coming home.  He came home after 10pm.  Today was just a quiet day, nothing much happened.

Wednesday, April 8, 2015

Today was a permanent day.  Permanent as in permanent crown, today was my dental appointment to take off my temp crown and get my permanent one.  I have a couple of gold crown but I found out they are more sensitive to cold and heat so I get the porcelain ones now.  Porcelain crowns are not as durable but they work better for me and there is no difference in cost.  The insurance company doesn't recommend one over the other.
So hubby was thought he was only working a regular 8 hour day today so we didn't have to get up until 10 since he didn't have to be to work until 1130am.  We got up, showered and dressed.  We fed the puppies, kitties, birds and fish, then left to take hubby to work.  It was a beautiful day for a drive and we really didn't want to stop at the school, wanting to just continue on and head up the mountain.  But we need the money so we stopped.  Hubby asked me to hang out a little so I could take him to the bank to do the deposit and then to the Kum and Go for coffee.  Sure, my dental appointment wasn't for a couple of hours and it was a chance to do something together.
We went to the bank and then to Kum and Go where I got a soda and a hot dog with mustard, ketchup, pickle relish and sauerkraut, yum!  Hubby got the same but with different stuff on his dog.  Then we drove back to the school and sat in the parking lot eating.  We talked about some people that we know that had died and gotten sick.  There was a character actor that recently died that hubby was a big fan of and we found out that our tax lady thought she had a stroke and ended up in the hospital but luckily she didn't.  Whatever happened, she was doing better and should be out of the hospital in a day or two.  And I had just gotten an email from my Red Hat Queen, Judithmary, that a fellow Red Hatter, Lori, died unexpectedly yesterday.  Hubby and I talked about how we really needed to start exercising to get in shape because we didn't want to end up dying anytime soon so we agreed to start on Friday when he gets off of work.
The dental appointment went ok, they did have to give me two shots of Novocain because the first one didn't numb the gums all the way, so my appointment took a little longer than expected.  My gums were very sore by the time the Novocain wore off but I didn't bite the inside of my cheek at all this time!
I ran a couple of errands and then picked hubby up so he could take me home.  I spent the rest of the afternoon downstairs in the kitchen, watching Dr Phil.   I found out the best way to watch Dr Phil is do something else at the same time, not paying too much attention to what is going on.
I cooked a whole chicken and some mac n cheese for dinner.  I didn't worry about not fixing a veggie because I eat 3 - 5 servings of fruit or veggies a day and had a couple of servings today already.
Hubby thought he was going to get done by 9 and be home in time for a late dinner but he got a rush at the last minute and could even close the shop until 845pm.  And then he had new closing procedures that took another hour so he didn't get home until 10pm.

Tuesday, April 7, 2015

Today was a therapy day.  I had therapy today so I had to get up and take a shower so I could take hubby into work.  We got up early and took our showers.  We got the beasties fed and headed out.  Since hubby had to be at work at 9 and my therapy appointment wasn't until 10, I agreed to hang out with hubby at work so he could go to the bank and get change for his work.  He also verified with his boss that he needed to go to Denver so after I was finished with therapy, I would come right back and he would drop me off on the way up to Denver.  He had some textbooks he needed to get up to his north office.
So after we went to the bank, I dropped hubby back off at the school again and headed off to meet with Steve, my therapist.  We needed to talk about my daughter's wedding, about not being there and able to do most of the planning with her.  Talk about having to not deal with most of her dad's relatives as Cassie says she doesn't think her grandfather, aunt or uncle are going to come in from out of state for the wedding.  I am sad for her but happy for me.  Then I don't have to deal with the stress.  But it's sad that her dad's side of the family won't go out of their way for a joyous occasion like this.  They don't treasure her like I do, hubby does, and the rest of my family does.  All of my family here in Colorado Springs are going to the wedding.  We are going to support and celebrate with her and Drew.
We talked about how I need to buckle down and start getting out in the fresh air, start exercising, working on the things the doctor wants me to do for my osteopenia.  I need to get my bike out of the garage and start riding it.  I am hoping the tires won't blow when I do, like I'm afraid that they will.  What I really want is an adult tricycle so I won't fall over but with all the bills we have right now, I can't afford to get one.  Maybe for Christmas next year or the spring time after.
After hubby dropped me back off at home, I relaxed and watched Medium to what I thought was the end but I found more episodes to watch, yeah!  And I watched my first Dr Phil since I gave it up for Lent.   Yesterday they had a she said, she said, they are abusing my child tale and I decided it wasn't worth my time to watch.  Today was a little bit more interesting, not about child abuse and I half watched as I played on the computer.  I'm not sure if I want the negativity of Dr Phil in my life again, so I know I will be selective on what I will watch.

Monday, April 6, 2015

Today was a wakening day.  I was having a dream this morning about finding a fallen star.  It was small and crystally and I put it in a sandwich baggie.  I carried it around and then I realized that these guys were following me to get the star.  I went to my apartment and packed some things quickly and went to my work.  I was a scientist and worked at this place that went 300 stories underground.  These aliens were the men following me, tracking me by the star.  The company I worked for had several floors with indoor greenhouses.  The heat and humidity on the floors would mask the signature of the star, the aliens wouldn't be able to find me.
The dream was intense and full of details.  I was woken up with a phone call from my dentist, calling me to get my payment and schedule me an earlier appointment to get my permanent crown put on.  I have an appointment on Friday but Fridays are by appointment only so they are trying to get me to reschedule for an earlier day.  I told them I was sleeping and would call them back after I was up.  So I talked to them later and made my payment, and got the days that are available for me to come in.
Judithmary called me.  I have to schedule a day and time to go over to her place and visit.  I talked to her for a little bit but then hubby came home for lunch and I needed to go.  I was going to call her back and set up a time to come over but didn't find out from hubby what days were available until later in the afternoon.  Then I laid down for a nap and sleep until it was time to feed the dogs, when hubby called and woke me up.
I had defrosted a whole chicken to make for dinner, to have ready when hubby was to come home but he was in the mood for spaghetti so he stopped at the store on the way home and bought the stuff to make it.  Cool, I was off the hook for dinner.
By the time hubby came home and made dinner, I couldn't eat any of it.  I sat with him while he ate and had a glass of milk.  We had a good conversation and he got to eat.  He did make the sauce without meat so I can eat some later.  He made himself italian sausage separately to add to it for himself.
Tomorrow I have therapy in the morning so I have to get up early to take hubby to work.  Then I will see if I can get over to Judithmary's after.

Easter, Sunday, April 5, 2015

Today was a resurrection day.  My heart was full of my love for God and His ultimate sacrifice of His some for our sins.  I woke up with the promise of forgiveness in my heart, and if God can forgive me my sins, then who am I to not forgive another for theirs?
Hubby and I woke up early, before the alarm.  I got up and let the dogs out, then came back to bed.  I intended to lay there until the alarm went off for me at 9am.  Hubby wanted to get up earlier than that so he could have some quiet time before we headed over to my parents for brunch at 10am.  Hubby woke up in a foul mood, complaining that I didn't consult him before telling my mom we would come over.  Bitching about having to go to church afterwards and all the work he has to do when he gets home, not going to be able to relax and rest to get ready for Start.  Start is the beginning of the semester of hubby's school and he does this 4 times a year.  When Start happens, hubby has to work 9am to 9pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, working regular hours on Thursday.  Friday he has off but then he has to work on Saturday because the school wants the bookstore to be open the Saturday of Start week.  So hubby being the manager feels like it's his job to be the one to work on the weekend.
Anyway, hubby was in a foul mood when we left for my parents at 930am.  We started down the street to my parent's house and we had 20 extra minutes before we had to be there so we took a little drive around instead.  We found ourselves behind the old KMart, closed down a couple of years ago.  I made an offer to hubby to improve his mood and he took me up on it.  I put a big ol' smile on that man's face.  His foul mood vanished.  We went on to my parents in a happy mood.
We had a good time with my parnets.  Mom made omelettes with all sorts of good stuff in them, bacon and oj.  Yum!!!  We had nice conversations and saw all the rearranging that they had done to start preparing for puppies.  We had a good time.
We left and went over to Holy Apostles Catholic Church for the noon mass.  It was beautiful and wonderful.  Father Paul gave a good talk/sermon and we both enjoyed it.
The rest of the day, hubby and I spent at home.  I was up in the bedroom reading and watching tv and he was down in his office playing on the computer and listening to music.  Later, he did laundry and cooked dinner.  Cleaned out the cat boxes, but that was all.  Just for the record, he had hours and hours of down time and is ready to face Start.  We will even be sleeping about midnight.

Friday, April 3, 2015

Today was a laughing day.  It was a day to be happy and enjoy what life has to offer.  To watch happy things on tv, to read happy books, to plan happy outings, like Easter Brunch with my parents.
We had invited my parents over for Easter dinner, which is this Sunday, but in review our finances, we don't have the money to buy all the stuff for dinner, so I called mom and dad and told them.  Mom suggested we come over to their place before noon mass on Easter so I accepted for hubby and I.  We went through what we eat and what we don't eat, like fish and mushrooms.  Hubby will eat this and I don't, I eat this and hubby doesn't.  Mom is going to plan what to eat and we will visit and then we will have all afternoon to relax on Sunday.
Monday will be Start for hubby.  Start is the beginning of the semester of the school.  Happens 4 times a year.  On Monday and Tuesday hubby works from 9am to 9pm.  Open to Close.  Then he will go back to his normal schedule, but normally on the weekend before, he tries not to do much.  Well, this weekend that just isn't going to happen.
Saturday hubby and I have to get up at 8am so we can leave by 830am so hubby can drop me off at the zoo by 910am.  I have a Docent meeting that starts at 930am.  I can stay until 11am then have to leave so hubby can pick me up and take me to Fargo's Pizzeria where I have a Red Hat meeting.  The Red Hatters are meeting at 11am but I can't leave my Docent meeting until 11.
Since I won't be working at the zoo, I am going to wear my purple outfit to the meeting and then I will have my red hat in the car to wear into Fargo's.  At least that's the plan.   I have to see if my purple jeans are in the dirty clothes.  Ah, good!  Hubby found my purple jeans and they are clean, yeah!  I am all set for tomorrow.

Thursday, April 2, 2015

Today was a contemplation day.  I woke up this morning and decided to spend the day just review what I have been doing for the last couple of months and what I want to accomplish in the coming summer months.
My daughter, Cassie, and her fiance, Drew, are getting married on May 16th, a Saturday.  It's going to be a simple ceremony in the backyard of her best friend, Emily, father's house.  Cassie and Emily lived with Jack, her father, for a couple of years.  Jack hosted Emily's wedding in the backyard a couple of years ago and agreed to let Cassie do the same.  So Cassie's soon-to-be Mother-in-law is going to talk to her friend, a wedding planner, and see if she will help the kids out with some decorative things for the wedding.
Today Cassie was out working and stopped at a place and found the dress she is going to wear!  She is going to send me a picture of it soon.  She told me she was going to look for a spring dress, something simple.  I can't wait to see it!
So for a wedding present I came up with the idea of giving the kids a mini-honeymoon.  My cousin, Coleen, my parents, hubby and I are all going in on the gift.  I am going to talk to my sister, Laura, and ask her if she wants to do it also.  Since the kids will be living in Drew's parents house when his parents move to Italy in a couple of weeks after the wedding, for 4 - 5 years, they really don't need much of anything else.  I have a new, large family bible for the kids that I bought a couple of years ago to give to Cassie when she got married.  There is a section in there for her to put her family line, births, deaths, wedding and more.  I thought I would fill it out as much as I could before giving it to her.
There is going to be a neighborhood garage sale June 5th and 6th, so a big project for me coming up is to start plowing through the garage and get ready for it.  I really need to clean out the garage so we can get the automatic garage door opener fixed and start parking it in.  There is so much stuff in there, most of it paperwork and trash.
I also need to start working in the yard.  The front hedges need trimming and the garden where I am planting the tomatoes needs to be worked, getting ready for the tomatoes.  I wanted to clean the yard up some more.
I was also thinking about other things but these are the main things that have been occupying my thoughts lately.

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

Today was an expensive day.  The day started out good, I woke up at 7am, long before the alarm was due to go off.  The only thing on my mind was how much money we owed for bills this month, today, and how hubby and I have been fiscally irresponsible for the last week.  We just got paid but had spent some of the money that we got in to pay the mortgage but were short so we just kept eating out and spending.  Bad us!  So when we got paid yesterday, we paid the mortgage first thing, paid the utilities and paid to get our taxes done by Eileen today.
The only thing I had to do was go see Eileen at 2pm in her house and get the taxes done.  I found out that we still had an $800 energy credit, which was good news but for 2014, I received a 1099 from the Student Loan people for forgiving my student loans because I am permanently disabled.  There was a big process I had to go through in order to get forgiven for my student loans, which is good, and they were forgiven, which is good, but then they 1099 so you have to report all the money you received to go to school as income.  So today I had to report $17,000 on my tax returns as additional income.  Mine and hubby's tax returns.
So at 115pm, I left our house and, going by a brief vocal instruction from hubby for directions, and by a distant memory, I made my way to our tax lady's place.  I love Eileen!  My parents had been going to her for tax preparation and referred us over because she is good, and charges less than half of the tax franchises.  So this is our third year with her.  And I am so happy.  She put all the tax documents in her program, asked me lots of questions and made some adjustments.
I knew with all the extra income we would end up owing this year, so I made a joke that I thought we would end up owing $4000.  I guess the joke was on me cause when we were finished inputting all the information, we owed federal $3200 and the state of Colorado $1250!  We set up in our federal tax return for automatic payments of $75 to come out of our checking account every month on the 3rd.  The State of Colorado are uppity bitches that don't allow you to make payment arrangements for money you owe and just give you a form with the whole amount.  So we took the form and blanked out the full amount and when we get some extra money, we will fill in the form with the amount we are sending in and then wait for the State to contact us with information to set up a payment plan.  We are ok with the federal payment plan we set up because it will take us 44 months to pay off the $3200 if we only send in $75 a month and they said as long as you pay it off within 72 months, I think.
This is what I am looking at.  Cassie is getting married May 16, on a Saturday.  I am trying to arrange a two day mini-honeymoon for Cass and Drew.  I am trying to get all my family to go in on a two night stay at a "full service" Marriott Hotel.  That's a hotel with a pool, hot tub, restaurant and free wi-fi.   I want to give them the two night stay and money for eating out.  Tonight I am going to talk to her about it, to see if they have any plans.  Drew's parents don't leave for a couple of weeks and I thought they would like to get some private time right after the wedding instead of just spending it with his parents at the house.  Drew's parents, Becky and Jerry, are going to give the kids two round trip tickets to Italy so the kids can come out to Italy to visit them.  They are moving there for 4 or 5 years.  The kids are going to live in their house and take care of the cats and the house while they are gone.  That will give them time to save up money to buy a house.
I have to mention that when I was on the way home, God spoke to me.  He suddenly put into my head the refinance on the house, that led to us being able to afford the bankruptcy, which cleared our debts and now allowed us the freedom to be able to pay this tax bill.  God told me "See what happens when you trust Me.  I know the bigger plan."
