Today was a feeling better day! I have been sick for the last week and ended up in the ER on Saturday. The week, on Saturday past, I was in the ER for passing bloody mucus when I pooped. So they had run a CT Scan and didn't find anything, so they put me on strong antibiotics and pain killers and stomach buffers and sent me home. Well this whole past week, I haven't pooped again since that day. So Friday night, I took 3 pill laxatives. Nothing happened. So Saturday morning, I took 3 more. Nothing happened all day but the spasming in my lower gut had started Friday morning again. So I called hubby and asked him to pick up an enema and some Miralax. He brought those home and I did the enema. Still nothing. I waited the 6 hours then we ended back in the ER at the hospital.
I told them my history for the last week and so they did an xray. Then they did another CT Scan, this time without contrast. It showed that I was just really constipated so then they gave me an extra strength enema. It worked and I started pooping. So I was discharged.
Since I had the colonoscopy to do on Tuesday, I had to do 2 days of clear liquid this time to really try to clear out. I had the super prep kit but Sunday I started taking the Miralax all day too. I ate some lemon jello that hubby made me, drank tea and sparkling clear flavored waters. I didn't get really hungry. I was pooping brown water all day.
Monday, I was a little hungry but I ate the rest of the lemon jello, so good! For breakfast. Then I drank a lot and ate some popsicles. I didn't take any miralax because I was taking the super prep today, which I did at 4pm and at midnight. Everything came out and I was pooping clear water. Since I had to take the last dose of super prep at midnight, I knew I would be up and in the bathroom for several more hours, so I didn't take my night pills, so sleeping was out of the question.
I laid there and watched Hulu Plus all night long. Hubby stayed up with me until 330am, when he dropped off to sleep until 7am. We had to leave at 730am to get checked in at the surgery center by 8am.
I got checked in early, about 750am, but the doctor was running half an hour or more late. He didn't even arrive at the center until half an hour after he was scheduled to do his first procedure! Hubby was pissed, but I took it in stride. So instead of doing my colonoscopy at 9am, they didn't get to me until 10. Then it took a little longer because they had to remove a polyp and take a biopsy of an inflamed area. Prositis, is what they say I have. So after I was awake and waiting to be checked out, they brought out the paperwork with the findings of the colonoscopy. The polyp and the biopsy had been sent off to the lab. I had to wait for Dr Moore to get out of a procedure to give me a prescription for a medicated enema that I have to take every night before bedtime. Fun! No!
My fasting break meal was a Big MAc from McDonalds with fries and a Coke. Now they recommend light food for after but I wanted my Big Mac. It fulfilled a craving. Probably won't eat another one for over a year or more. It was good but that was enough.
Hubby filled in for me by taking care of Holly's cat, feeding a watering but not doing the litterbox for 4 days in a row. So today, Wednesday, we had to go over to Holly's house so I could feed and water Morgan again, and clean up the extra little piles of poop outside the litterbox since was full. I cleaned everything up and then we left to go visit Cassie and take her out for an early dinner for her birthday.
Her 26th birthday was Monday. We had sent out her presents on Monday, a pair of leopard spotted slipper boots and 20 lip make up pencils and 20 eye liner make up pencils. I also have a solar charge power bank for her iPhone but forgot to send it to her. She got her presents on Tuesday. She wanted us to come up and see her today but I also forgot to bring it with me. So when hubby goes back to work next week, we will send it out to her then.
We took her out to Dave's bBQ in Broomfield. It was good but expensive. The manager bought her a margarita for her birthday and there was a free 3 scoop sunday for dessert. But the drink on special for me and 3 dinners came to $85, with tip. The waitress was so nice and friendly, we wanted to tip her at least 20%.
The drive home took about 2 hours. We did stop at a new Kum & Go in Broomfield to get tea and two bags of chips for tomorrow. I got their Honey Mustard Chips and their Dill Pickle Chips. Each bag of their brand of chips is 99 cents. And since it was a refill, I got it for about $1.50.
Tomorrow we are going to sleep in and then hubby and I are going to clean off the shelves in the craft room and unpack the boxes of fabric to put them away. That way we can start sitting in the craft room on the big chairs again. It makes for a nice place to read.
