Today was a jubilant day. I woke up earlier than the alarm, set for 1030am. Holly was due over by 11am to drop off her computer for hubby to try to repair for her. Her husband had decided to download Windows 10 last night but had not plugged it in and the battery ran out and died in the middle of the download. Then when she plugged it in, it said there was no operating system and she couldn't do anything with it. Hubby talked to her a little last night and had her do a few things to it but nothing worked. So he told her to drop it off on her way to work and he would see what he could do. So she did. I gave her some cookies to take with her to work, along with a Vern's ginger ale. One of her favorite soda companies.
Since it was really nice outside, I sat in the front swing and read. I checked on hubby sleeping upstairs at noon, and he was still asleep. So I went back out and read until he got up and took a shower. Then he came out and sat with me. We decided he would make breakfast, he already had the bacon defrosted a couple of days ago. And he made scrambled eggs. Yum! We fed the beasties and then headed out. I am going to play Bingo with some of the church ladies on Monday at one of their houses and I needed a $10-12 present and $2 for blackout. Lunch will be served by the hosts.
So we left and went over to my parents house. I wanted to drop off the new Oriental Trading Company Beading catalog to mom as they had a good selection of big holed beads. And I really liked some of the bead kits they had and was very tempted to buy them! Better to drop off the catalog before that happened! We visited and ate some orange cake that was still warm. It was in a bunt pan and had a glaze on it. Mom got it out of a mix and it was really good! We saw dad's progress on the cement block fence he was building. It is actually a rebuld as it was crumbling and broken when they bought the house.
We left there and stopped at the pot shop to pick up some for hubby. Remember, it's legal here in Colorado and he had a medical mj license too. I looked at books at the record shop while he was doing that. Didn't find any I wanted though.
Our next stop was American Classic Marketplace. It's a business that rents booths and cabinets for vintage, antique or handmade items. I wanted to get my Bingo gift there. I found a wooden tray that is small for jewelry on a dresser top. It had been made in Italy and the top was decorated with pictures and writing. Then I found two pretty broaches to go with it. Hubby didn't like the tray at all but I really liked it. I also found a vintage tomato shaped pair of salt and pepper shakers with a matching tomato bowl with lid. For only $8! I couldn't resist, I had to get it for my kitchen. Pigs and tomatoes are now my theme for the kitchen. A little strange, but fun!
We stopped at the grocery store on the way home. Hubby was pretty worn out so didn't feel like cooking dinner, so we were going to pick something up but noticed the gourmet soups that King Soopers makes. We decided that sounded better than anything else so we picked out our favorites to eat for dinner. I couldn't make up my mind so I got both Broccoli Cheddar and Loaded Baked Potato. Hubby got the big container of Tomato Basil. When we called Frank to get some for him, he said no, he was eating the leftover pork from the other night.
Hubby laid down when we got home. This cold has really taken a toll on him! I heated up my Broccoli Cheddar soup and ate. Forgot to get some bread! Hubby got up a little bit later and ate. Then we cleaned up the kitchen and relaxed. We tried to water the lawn but there is a problem with the front hose, so tomorrow Frank is going to bring the backyard hose up front. The grass is pretty yellow already but the tomatoes will thank us.
Tomorrow Lois is going to pick me up either at 1030am or 1130am, so I'm going to be ready early. I am a little nervous about my gift, since I don't know what most people generally get. But this is a real representation of me, I like the older, little things.
