Today was a visiting day.  Hubby didn't have to be into work until 1130, so we didn't have to get up early.  I really need to start getting up early again and trying to walk the dogs.  Hubby is going to put new tires on my bike for my birthday also, and get me a helmet, so I can use that for exercise, too.  But the dogs are really missing out on their walking so I have going to have to get up early and start walking them separately.
I took hubby in to work and dropped him off.  I drove over to mom and dad's to see the new paint job on the exterior of their house that was just done.  Buttercream yellow with white trim.  And all 3 exterior doors were painted fire engine red.  Cute!  It cost about $1900 for this company to do it, and that included all the scrapping, sanding and minor repairs.  Dad bought all the paint, 14 gallons total of both colors.  He ended up with about a gallon of each left, for touch ups that he sees that he didn't have done before the painters left.
So today, dad installed a new screen door to go with the new paint job.  It's a two paneled glass door and the top panel slides down with screen access.  This way the dogs can't get to it but they can still get a breeze going through the house.  He also got a new porch light that works off of motion detectors.
Yesterday mom was visiting a neighbor and stepped down a step and had a searing pain in her calf.  It still hurt intensely several minutes later so she went into the doctor.  The doctor said it could be a symptom of a blood clot so sent her for an ultrasound.  That showed there was no clot, thank goodness, so told her that she may have had a muscle tear and she needed to ice it, heat it, and stay off it for the next week.  If it was still painful, they would do a CAT scan.  Mom has a concular implant for hearing so can't get an MRI.  There is a magnet installed on her skull under the skin.
So I stayed with mom and we sat and visited for several hours.  We all had lunch together and then we went back to visiting on the couch.  I brought my crochet to do while we were talking and she had some mending to do, so we did that while we talked.
About 320pm, I left to go pick up hubby and bring him back to the house for lunch and to exchange the car.  He ate some of the pork chili we made this morning in the crock pot, took a shower, and went back to work.  I sat down on my computer and started writing to my cousin when the power went out.
I called the utility company and found out we were having a power outage in the neighborhood, so I took the new IKEA catalog and went outside to the swing and sat there for a few hours.  When the power came back on, I went back inside and turned on the fans.
Since dinner was whenever, Frank ate when he was ready then headed up for bed around 8.  I ate earlier too, didn't wait for hubby.  The rattie boys got some pork chili too for dinner.  The beasties all got fed and I waited for hubby to get home.
We have downloaded James Patternson's tv series, Zoo, and tonight I am going to start watching it.  Heard it was really good.  We will probably watch another Rozzoli and Isles and some Netflix later.
Tomorrow and Friday I will be home all day, so plan on trying to get the bill binder set up, go grocery shopping Friday evening and try to organize the craft table.
