Today was a discovery day. Hubby had a doctor's appointment to find out the results of his MRI on his neck so he was taking the morning off. So we slept in, got up and got ready for the appointment at 11am.
We got to stop at our favorite drink place, Kum and Go and I got an orange soda. Then we traveled onward to the doctor's. We got there 15 minutes early but it still took a half an hour before we saw her.
The news wasn't good, he had a herniated disc at C6/C7. So she was referring us to a neurosurgen. Hubby told her the name of the doctor who did the surgery before when he had another herniated disc, Dr Illig. She made out the referral for him.
Dr Illig was the doctor that Workman's Comp had do the surgery when hubby injured himself at work about 5 years ago. We made an appointment when we got home with his office for next week on Wednesday at 11am. Hubby is going to discuss what he thinks caused this injury at work and what needs to be done through here. It's from all the lifting and moving he has to do at work. Once we see Dr Illig, he will give us his opinion about all this. Then starts the hard work.
When we got home, I dropped off hubby so he could get ready for work and I headed over to Holly's to give her the dinner menu, recipes and grocery list I made up for her yesterday while I was doing it for me. She does online school full time, mom full time and work full time so I told her I would do this for her to help her out. Took me about 3 hours of writing to get it all done for both of us, but it came out good. I managed to get meals for us through the 20th without shopping for a lot. And we are having burritos on my birthday!
My birthday is on August 13, in 9 days. So I told hubby that I wanted two things. I wanted to get a dressmaker's dummy for sewing in my size, and I wanted him to fix my bike so I can start riding. I saw that Hancock Fabrics had the dressmaker dummies on sale for $99.99. I did my measurements and my bust is between 45-48 inches, depending on the bra I wear, waist is 41 inches and hips are 44 inches. This would be a size Medium dummy. When I went there, they didn't have one in my size but they told me the sale was online too and gave me a brochure with the different styles. They circled the one that I needed. So I talked to hubby and told him that was what I wanted, if we could afford it.
So I sat down and looked at the bills I had to pay this pay period and there was extra money to get it! But only because we had floated the pay day loans for another month. But we had it, so I went online and did some comparison shopping and found out that this was a really good deal. Normally, and at other stores, they were going to for $236.00! So I ordered it from Hancock Fabrics and got the shipping for free! With Tax it came to just a little over $106.00.
And our neighbors next door, Rose and her parents, came back. They were just away visiting and working. Rose brought back the $40 I had paid her to help me walk the dogs. I told her thank you and I was sorry it didn't work out. Then I took the money and ordered pizza for dinner tonight. And a salad. I had chicken and rice scheduled for dinner but this sounded better. Hubby was home for lunch and said it sounded better with him, too. Frank was happy.
Hubby is working until 930pm tonight to make up for the time he missed at work this morning. Frank went to bed at 745pm since he is getting up at 330am. So it's just me, the dogs, the cats, and the rattie boys.
Tomorrow I will be making up the bill folder and sorting through the extra table that we have been using to put the mail on, along with everything else. We have a bunch of medical bills that came in from hubby's colonoscopy that we have to pay and I need to find them.
I did find a terrific deal on Amazon for a 1000 dog poop bags and a holder that I got two of, one for us and one for my parents for Christmas. They are trying to downsize and this is something they need and will get lots of use out of when they travel with the dogs. Should supply them for years. The deal was for $16.99. I also ordered a leash holder for $7.49 each. And since we are Prime Memebers, we get free 2 day shipping.
