Today was a glorious day. Hubby was going to call into work and take the day off so we could spend another day together and he could sleep in, but his underling called off first, so he went in. I had woke up early and was reading while all this was going on. When he left, I turned on the tv, watched network television and read my Joanne Fluke book.
Later I got up and fed the beasties. I spent some time in with Tommy, our local stray. He was relaxing on the bed, which means he is starting to explore his room, which is really good. I stroked his back while he ate. He likes me to mix the pate canned cat food with the chunky meat in gravy canned cat food. He purrs while he eats and I'm petting him. While I was in there, hubby came home for an early lunch and we sat with Tommy and played with him. He's doing really well and seems to be content. Soon we are going to leave the gate up and open the library door and introduce him to the dogs and other cats, while we are standing there.
Hubby and I went downstairs and ate some soup for lunch. We talked and laughed. Pretty soon though, he had to go back to work. I let the rattie boys out for a little bit, then went back upstairs to read my book.
Hubby came home around 530pm, after stopping at the grocery store and picking me up a couple of more yogurts for breakfast until pay day. We made dinner together. I had defrosted 3 pound of hamburger so we took a pound and a half and put it in a bowl. I seasoned it with onion powder, basil, paprika, Italian seasonings, pepper, chili powder, and salt. He squished it all up with his hands. Then I sprayed a 9x13 pan and he pressed the mixture in the bottom. We opened and spread two cans of Nacho Cheese Soup from Campbells on top. We sprinkled a pound of frozen mixed vegetables over, then put a layer of tater tots on top. I put it in the oven at 400 degrees for an hour, uncovered. The guys really liked it, but I found out that I did not. It's something about the cheese sauce and hamburger.
After dinner, hubby cleaned up and Frank went to bed. I'm going to cut hubby's hair with the electric trimmer before bed. I let the rattie boys out again and gave them some of dinner for their dinner. They seems to like the tater tots but not eating much else right now. They will eat later and I will see if they liked it at all. They don't seem to like the new seed mix I got, too much of it is getting pulled out of the bowl and tossed to the floor.
