Today was a creepy day.  And by creepy,I mean in bugs.  Bedbugs.  We have them.  We found out last night when I went into our roommate's bedroom to get toilet paper, his bed is crawling with them!  And he not only tore a huge hole in the new set of sheets I gave him to use when he moved in with us, but they are almost black!  Doesn't look like he has changed and washed the sheets in months.  The place was filthy and crawling with bugs.  I was totally grossed out but that does explain all the bits I have been getting for the last month all over my body. They have spread into our room too.  Hubby and I thought that we were flea infested and have been vacuuming the bed and changing the sheets frequently.  But no, it's the dreaded bedbug!  Nightmare come true.
Hubby and I sat down and looked it up on the internet.  The bugs are def bedbugs.  And if you can't afford an exterminator, you have to do a lot of things.  You have to rent a stream cleaner and steam clean the mattresses, box springs and floor.  Then you have to bag the mattress and the box spring in plastic bags and seal them.  Well, several holes got poked in the bag when moving the mattresses so we sealed them up with packing tape the best we could.  We saw bugs come back out under the plastic.
Hubby and Frank worked on his room and our room and got those done tonight.  Frank is taking the day off to finish doing the library tomorrow.  We have the futon with two mattresses on there that have to be done.  The floor needs to be done and the stuff in there have to be moved into the garage.  I have to find my diabetic meter, it got moved when hubby cleaned off my nightstand.  With me drinking so much apple juice, I have to check my blood sugar to see what I'm at.
I did the grocery shopping from a list and dinner menu that hubby and I made together.  Bill came to $209.  I was shopping for two weeks.  Not bad.  But that's with using most of the meat still in our freezer, so I only got a little bit of meat.
I'm so mad at Frank!  How could he be so disrespectful to our house?  And live in such filthy conditions?  It cost us $60 to rent the steamer and buy the shampoo.  $45 to buy the mattress bags.  $30 for a new set of sheets.  Not to mention all the extra cost on the utility bill for having to use hot water to wash and all the extra loads that are going to have to be done.  No more washing in cold water.
Tomorrow I have Bingo with the church ladies.  I'm looking forward to that and getting out.  I got a Christmas fleece throw and three kinds of hot chocolate for my gift.  I intend to steal it back and make it mine!
